In todays world so many of us are struggling with chronic diseases and problems. We are tired, overweight, anxious, depressed and accepting these things as normal. We are not living well and enjoying our lives. We are all also trying really hard to do the right things. But somewhere along the way it became impossible to figure out what the "right" thing was. Do we eat low fat or high fat? Do we become vegans or cavemen? Everywhere we turn we are bombarded with not only what we should be doing, but also everything we are doing wrong. Everything is so conflicting, in the end many people give up, putting nutrition into the "too hard basket" and so we continue to get sicker and fatter and more unwell. I decided to study nutrition because I was sick of living on the dieting bandwagon. I was sick of the deprivation and the guilt, and was sick of always feeling like a failure because regardless of how hard I tried I was never good enough. I wanted to know facts. How do we live long and healthy lives? What is the truth about nutrition? How do I nourish myself and my family? How can I develop strong healthy and confident children and get this for myself as well? This page is a journey. It is about what I have learnt and what I continue to learn. Perfection is impossible, but each step we take in the right direction is good and we should be proud. We have to keep learning and keep trying. Enough already- lets take charge of our health and get the lives we want!
