Josephine Doyle Yoga I am passionate about bringing yoga to you in a safe, practical and easy to follow fun way. Here is My Story. Why did I leave it that long before seeking advice?

I hope it inspires you to trust in your body and explore your yoga journey...

Doctors and Specialists advised that operating on my 2 bulging disks was the only option for 5 years of chronic pain and sciatic numbness caused by a car accident in my late 20’s. Having read many books on how the body has infinite intelligence to heal itself, the idea of having an operation on my spine was not an option, so I had to go in search of one. I thought if I ignored it for long enough the pain would go away (sound familiar)
It became unbearable and to be honest, the thought of my future in a wheelchair gave me the drive to find SOMETHING other than surgery. A Specialist suggested surgery
A friend suggested yoga...

I was very apprehensive about going to a class as it was my understanding one had to be flexible, a vegetarian and show an uncanny talent with a tambourine. My first yoga class I needed assistance getting down onto the mat, nearly every move I made was either incredibly painful or inaccessible and frustration rose its head on many occasion at not being able to do the simplest of moves. My ego tried to push through the pain and soon found out that it’s not the yoga way of doing things – One of the 8 limbs Ahimsa (non-violence) I was very fortunate to have found a traditional, dedicated yoga teacher with acute awareness around chronic pain and anatomy. He gave me the tools to overcome years of chronic pain and sleepless nights, and I am talking years! After 7 years of Craig’s guidance and free of pain I then embarked on my yoga teacher training with Master John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre. I had to share this knowledge and pass on that it is possible to heal yourself. I have continued my passion for learning and developing new skills by attending workshops, on-going personal research and sharing the gifts yoga continually gives, to the ever-growing community of yoga lovers. I’ve been a yogi for 11 years and teaching for 4 years and never looked back. The style I teach is mainly Hatha with attention to detail and alignment. I make hands-on adjustments and teach with humour and an open heart and a genuine passion for helping people to connect with their bodies and empower them to look beyond the physical, keeping it real, grounded and accessible. I look back on my journey and I know that yoga has changed my life on so many levels. I am grateful for every teacher and the tools yoga has given me to live a more peaceful, compassionate pain-free life. What a Gift. Darlings...

Happy Full Moon Eclipse.

After a powerful meditation early this morning, this is the energy coming into our Yoga Shala space... the last time I saw anything like this was out at Ormiston Gorge NT.

These moments in time offer a deep surrender to the powers that be, leaving me humbled and grateful for the divine spirit and the light that illuminates us all.

Forget paw prints on the screen—Penny struts in like she owns the place, cooing her way through my emails and occasionally pecking at the space bar. She’s not exactly helpful with productivity, but she’s definitely good company.

The Healthy Hips and Lower Back Workshop is easy, it offers a series of stretches designed specifically for the lower back and hip 5. This 2.5-hour program will give you time to relax and unwind the fascia, connective tissue and tension in the muscles. It is a simple format with a big impact and regardless of where you are physically or perhaps recovering from injury, you will be made welcome no matter how inflexible you might perceive yourself to be.

The Healthy Hips and Lower Back Workshop is a practical, educational, and personalised clinic. You will learn easy,  gentle therapeutic stretches that loosen the lower back, surrounding muscles, connective tissue, and fascia. Bodywork is also available.
