📆 Children’s Mental Health Week | 3–8 February
đź’› Emotional wellbeing starts young.
Children don’t always have the words to explain how they’re feeling—but they’re always communicating in their own way.
Here are a few gentle ways carers, families, and support workers can nurture emotional wellbeing:
🌱 Create safe moments for expression
Let feelings come out through play, drawing, music, or quiet time—there’s no “right” way to express emotions.
đź‘‚ Listen without rushing to fix
Sometimes being heard matters more than having answers. A calm, present listener builds trust.
🤝 Strengthen connection through routine
Consistent check-ins, shared activities, and predictable environments help children feel secure.
đź’¬ Name emotions together
Helping children recognise and label feelings supports emotional literacy and self-understanding.
🫶 Support the carers too
Emotionally supported carers are better able to support young minds—compassion goes both ways.
This Children’s Mental Health Week, let’s focus on connection, understanding, and kindness—for children and those who care for them every day.
