In Loving Memory of - forever in our hearts.
Nick Zafiriou born 07/04/1963 passed away peacefully on 17/05/2025. Aged 62.

Nick Zafiriou was born in Sydney, Australia on the 7th April, 1963 to Ioannis and Maria Zafiriou. At age 21 he married Sotiria Bisbikis in Sydney, Australia. Nick and Sotiria were blessed with two daughters, Danielle and Yianna.
Nick will be deeply missed by his family, nephews, great niece and many friends. However reunited with his beloved sister Anthoula and parents. “Βάρδα στεναχώρια”
We at Guiding Light Funerals, have been entrusted by Nick's beloved wife and daughters and family to take him into our care, to prepare him with for his final journey on this world and have him laid to rest. For us, there is a real special connection and bond with Nick and his beloved family, while our initial reaction was pure shock and devastated in hearing of Nick's passing, we turned to one main aim and that is, to be sincere, dependable and most important, dignified and serve with our heart, no more and no less.
Nick's journey has now began with us over the next few days, as his funeral preparations take place, Nick will be cared for by us and the honour placed upon us is so special and with great love and dignity and divine strength keeping emotions aside, Nick will be prepared and laid in his coffin and awaiting his final interment, to be laid at rest. He will never be forgotten by his family and friends or us, his memory will remain eternal.
Nick's Funeral Arrangements have been completed and we have been asked by his beloved wife, Roula and daughter's, Danielle and Yianna to place this memorial on our page with the funeral details.
The Viewing will take place on Thursday night (22/5/25) commencing at 6.30pm at St. Euphemia Greek Orthodox Church 12 East Terrace, Bankstown. The Funeral and burial interment will take place on Friday (23/5/25) at St. Euphemia Greek Orthodox Church commencing at 11.00am, followed by the Burial Interment to be held at Rookwood Cemetery, at the Eastern Orthodox Zone 6 Section Ext_Zone F Grave 67B at 1.30pm.
Please Note:- For those wishing to attend the burial service, we make recommendations that you make your way to Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church and at the corner of Weekes Avenue and Haslem Drive endeavour to find parking in the area and await the arrival of the cortege. The grave site is on Haslem Drive near the corner of Weekes Avenue and will easily be identified by others in the area and Rookwood Cemetery Grave Diggers in attendance.
The traditional Wake will be held at St Euphemia Greek Orthodox Church Hall next to the Church, the family extends to all their invitation to attend after the interment service is completed, for those that are unable to attend the burial service, you are invited to proceed to the Church Hall after the funeral service has been completed and await the arrival at the Church Hall for the family to return from Rookwood Cemetery following the completion of the Burial Interment Service.
Μετά των Αγίων ανάπαυσον, Χριστέ, την ψυχήν του δούλου σου Nick, ένθα ουκ έστι πόνος, ου λύπη, ου στεναγμός, αλλά ζωή ατελεύτητος.
With all the Saints give rest, O Christ, to your departed servant’s soul Nick, where there is no pain, no sorrow and no lament, but only life eternally.
