As the vaccination levels in Blacktown and Sydney have improved, we have updated our centre protocols.

From Monday 18th October:
All patients and visitors to the centre are required to be fully vaccinated to Covid-19 or undergo Covid testing within 3 days prior to the appointment.

Patients attending for day surgery will still be required to undergo Covid testing within 3 days prior to surgery.

Face-masks are still required at the centre, unless you have a medical exemption.

We will continue to revise and update our centre policies in the coming weeks.

On World Sight Day today, it’s time to LOVE YOUR EYES.

Our eyes are working hard during the pandemic. We have been indoors, in front of our screens, and missed our eye test appointments. Now more than ever, we need to protect and prioritise our eyesight.

On World Sight Day 14th October, it’s time to Love Your Eyes.

The 20-20-20 rule helps your eyes relax when you’re looking at a screen for a long time. Every 20 minutes, take 20 seconds to look 20 feet (6 meters) away.

Eye Injections are essential.

If you stop your eye injections, your risk permanently damaging your vision.

Even during lockdown you should still attend your appointment for eye injection.

If you’re receiving eye injections for wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema or other retinal conditions, it is essential that you continue your regular eye injections with your ophthalmologist. If you stop eye injections, you risk permanently damaging your vision.

Eye injections are essential treatment, and you are not breaking any Government restrictions by attending your appointment with your ophthalmologist.

In response to the current and evolving situation with Covid-19 in Western Sydney, MetWest is requesting that all patients attending for a consultation or day surgery undergo Covid testing prior to the appointment.

The staff and doctors at the centre are also undergoing routine and regular Covid testing.

Testing is requested regardless of vaccination status.

Please contact the centre on 9622 7667 if you have any questions.
