Deafness is NOT a tragedy.

A person with a BAHA, a cochlear implant, hearing aids, or no devices at all
is not someone to be pitied.
They are not “less than.”
They are not a sad story.

They are human
simply navigating the world in their own way.
And there is absolutely nothing tragic about that.

Deafness is NOT the tragedy.
The tragedy is how often society treats it like one.

Deafness isn’t the problem.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated AUSLAN Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will provide support to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring effective communication and engagement through Auslan.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist clients in daily activities, promoting independence and skill development.
- Utilise AUSLAN for effective communication with clients.
- Support clients in accessing community services and resources.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement individualised support plans.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical practices.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.

**Qualifications**:
- Proficiency in AUSLAN is essential.
