Dengue fever is a viral infection spread by Aedes mosquitoes, the same ones that transmit Zika and Chikungunya. It’s most common in tropical and subtropical regions, especially during warmer months.

Dengue often starts suddenly with:

- High fever
- Headache and eye pain
- Muscle and joint aches
- Nausea, vomiting, or rash

Severe cases can lead to serious complications and require urgent care.

There’s no specific cure, but rest, hydration, and medical monitoring help recovery. Prevention is key, use repellent, cover up, and remove standing water to avoid mosquito bites.

At Paratus Clinical, we’re helping drive research into next-generation dengue vaccines, working toward stronger, longer-lasting protection for people everywhere.

Today we recognise the millions of people living with diabetes and the importance of early detection, education, and ongoing support.

An estimated 11.1%, or 1 in 9, of the adult population (20-79 years) is living with diabetes, with over 4 in 10 unaware that they have the condition. This number continues to rise, highlighting the need for greater awareness and accessible care for all.

At Paratus Clinical, we’re committed to contributing to a healthier future through high-quality clinical research. By partnering with participants, communities, and healthcare professionals, we help support the development of new treatments and a deeper understanding of chronic conditions like diabetes.

At Paratus Clinical we believe in confronting obesity as a serious, chronic health condition, not just a matter of lifestyle or willpower. Obesity Week highlights this shift: obesity is not simply about “weight” but about metabolic, cardiovascular and overall health.

What this means:

• Supporting participants with evidence‐based care, tailored to their individual health needs.
• Recognising that recruitment into clinical trials and new therapies can play a vital role for people living with obesity.
• Raising awareness that treatment + prevention + access must all work together.
• Embracing multidisciplinary approaches, from clinical interventions to behavioural support and research.

We’re proud to engage in this area of health research and look forward to supporting better outcomes for individuals and communities.
