Dengue fever is a viral infection spread by Aedes mosquitoes, the same ones that transmit Zika and Chikungunya. It’s most common in tropical and subtropical regions, especially during warmer months.
Dengue often starts suddenly with:
- High fever
- Headache and eye pain
- Muscle and joint aches
- Nausea, vomiting, or rash
Severe cases can lead to serious complications and require urgent care.
There’s no specific cure, but rest, hydration, and medical monitoring help recovery. Prevention is key, use repellent, cover up, and remove standing water to avoid mosquito bites.
At Paratus Clinical, we’re helping drive research into next-generation dengue vaccines, working toward stronger, longer-lasting protection for people everywhere.
