🎅 What mischief has your cheeky Elf been getting up to? More language ideas and inspo pics below! ⛄

Wh Questions - Who, What, Where, When, Why: Use a wide range of 'Wh' questions or focus on one or two that you know your little speechling finds a bit tricky. Who is Elf reading to? Where is Elf? What is Elf doing?

Predicting, Inferencing, Reasoning and Problem Solving: Elf provides some fantastic scenarios to get your little speechling thinking! How do you know Elf has been eating Nutella? Why do you think Iron Man is holding Elf over the toilet? What do you think Elf is growing? How will Elf get out of there? Why do you think Elf's poo looks like chocolate? 🙊

Get creative, the possibilities are endless!

🎄Tonight is the night, Elf is on his way! See below for more pics and ideas on ways to help your little speechling’s communication skills grow this festive season.🎄

Vocabulary development: Elf has gone and put stickers on all different parts of his body - his head, cheek, tummy, hand, knee! He has also been known to make friends with all the different types of fruit in your fruit bowl - the bananas, mango, avocado, peach, apple! You can also talk about where Elf is to work on all those positional concepts - in the bag of freckles, on the table, next to the nutcracker, behind the avocado etc.

Following Instructions: You can extend on the discussions you have with your child by using some of the materials Elf might leave. Those stickers are great for working on simple 1-2 step instructions - "Stick the candy cane on your cheek and then the present on your tummy.” For older kids, Elf might leave a simple recipe for you to read and follow!

🎅🎄⛄️ Do you have a cheeky little elf that visits your house before Christmas? As well as getting up to all sorts of mischief, Elf provides endless opportunities to target an array of different communication skills with your little speechling!

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing lots of ideas as well as inspo pics, just in case Elf gets stuck for ideas! 😉

Verbs/action words and tense:
Elf is always on the go! He might be 'rolling', 'eating', 'cooking' 'swinging' etc. You can also talk about what Elf did yesterday to work on past tense - he 'rolled down the stairs', 'ate some popcorn', 'swung on the rope'. ⛄️🎄🎅
