Singing to your baby is so important for increased infant- caregiver bond. Using sung stories with rhythm, phrasing and undulation of pitch to connect and model can also support developmental outcomes in vital areas such as language and communication and cognition.

Do you have a children’s book you always sing rather than read?
The best way to really hold a baby or toddler’s attention is with music- especially in groups, such as preschools. We LOVE singing storybooks! It reinforces the rhythmic quality of the language and makes books highly engaging and memorable.

SO many books written for young children work really well when they are sung to simple tunes. Do you have one you always sing?
