Let’s let the NDIS know - in detail (even the tiny ones count) - what harm they are causing to Participants!!!

NDIS Cuts Are Hurting People. Now, We’re Tracking the Harm.

📍The Nobody Worse Off Coalition has today launched the Harm Tracker — a national, independent tool to expose the real impact of NDIS cuts.

Co-designed and led by Disabled people, with support from allied health professionals, the Harm Tracker collects stories and data from across Australia. It documents what support has been lost, the harm that follows, and who is affected. It will also capture and display the thinning of markets as service loss rapidly grows.

We’re using this evidence to create clear, accessible reports, maps and graphs. Because the harm is real, and it must be made visible.

The Harm Tracker is a tool for truth-telling. It is also a call to action.

NDIS decisions are being made behind closed doors, without real co-design and with little accountability to the community. This is how we open them again.

Share it, use it, email it, text it. Get it into the hands of everyone you can.

The Harm Tracker is now live. You can find the link in the comments below.

This work is grounded in Australia’s legal and moral responsibilities under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The current direction of the NDIS is not aligned with that commitment. These cuts are not co-designed, not safe, and not just.

Co-designed by Disabled people. Backed by a national coalition. Built to expose harm.

Remember: it ain't over until the crips say it's over.

WHAT IS THE HARM TRACKER?
The Harm Tracker is a new national tool to report how NDIS cuts are hurting people. It is an independent, grassroots, public interest project. It is co-designed with Disabled people, led by Disabled people and created in partnership with Allied Health workers.

If you or someone you support has lost services, had harmful changes to your plan, or been left without the help you need – the Harm Tracker is your place to speak up.

We collect real stories from people all over Australia to show what’s really happening. Your voice helps expose the impact of these cuts and push for change. We’ll use clear visual tools like Flourish to turn this data into maps, graphs, and reports that everyone can understand." The colour palette of the website is pink, green and white.]

🚨 NDIS Pricing Freeze & Travel Cuts – What Does It Really Mean? 🚨

Let’s talk reality. The NDIS has frozen pricing for Allied Health services again – and to make things worse, they’ve halved the amount providers can claim for travel.

In regional areas like ours, that’s a direct hit to the people who rely on us most.
We’re being told that participants should attend a clinic instead.
Sorry… what clinic? Where?
No transport. No local services. No available support workers. And now, no funding to get to you either.

How does someone with a complex physical disability have their assistive technology reviewed??? Load it all into their car and bring it to the "local clinic", which could be 100kms away or more?

🔍 We’re being asked to treat people in offices or via screens –
But how do you measure a ramp through Zoom?
How do you assess someone's ability to move around their kitchen… from an office chair?
How do you support someone with dementia or a brain injury outside the safety and familiarity of their own home?

This isn’t just a funding issue. It’s a care quality issue.
It’s inequitable. It’s unsafe. And it’s simply absurd.

We won’t compromise on our values. We will always advocate for best practice – which means delivering therapy where it actually works: in people’s homes, where life happens.

If you're concerned, please speak up. Contact your local MP. Sign the petitions. Share this post.
The people who need us most are the ones being left behind.

🤞🤞🤞 The decision makers start talking to us and Participants about the horrible impact their ill conceived decisions will have on the whole sector and the flow on to others…

The movement is growing, and the pressure is on.

OTA has joined forces with other Allied Health Peaks to advocate against the NDIA pricing decision.

We are jointly calling on the Federal Government and National Disability Insurance Agency to immediately halt and review the NDIS pricing decision, which threatens essential supports and the choice of people with disability.

In just over a week, over 50,000 Australians have backed calls for these changes to be stopped online, concerned about the devastating impacts and risk they pose to the safety and dignity of people with disability.
Let’s keep the momentum going.

NDIS participants in regional NSW rely on small businesses like ours to access essential Allied Health services.

Now, with the latest funding cuts, we’re facing the gut-wrenching reality that we may no longer be able to reach the people who need us most.

📍At Integrity Therapy Services, we support communities across Central West NSW. Mostly we cannot cover the entire cost of travel to and from these communities under the current funding rules, but we absorb these costs as much as possible to provide a service.

These are areas with:
🚕 Limited or no public transport
🏢 Limited or no local clinics / providers
🦼 Limited or no support workers available to transport people.

How do we tell someone in a rural town that we can’t come anymore — simply because the system doesn’t value our time or profession or where they choose to live?

This isn’t just about budgets — it’s about real people:
🔹 Falls that could have been prevented
🔹 Equipment that never arrives or is incorrect when it does
🔹 Therapy that no longer happens where it’s needed — in the home...

To say I’m gutted is an understatement. We’re not just a service — we’re part of their community...

The insanity of the NDIS decisions regarding providers continues to pose significant impact to people with disability and further marginalises our regional communities who are most vulnerable!

Any of us could need to be a Participant in the NDIS at any time and if we are unable to access quality Allied Health services where we live, what does that mean for us??

It means more hospital visits, long distance travel with pain, even longer waiting lists for a Telehealth appointment and mistakes being made with recommendations for what is truly needed to support a safe life at home.

Please sign this position and help us continue to help people with disabilities where they live!

We are not the enemy, as the NDIS would like the public to think. The vast majority of us work hard to provide high quality care to our NDIS Participants!

OTs are at breaking point.

The NDIA has made a devastating pricing decision—one that freezes therapy support rates for the seventh year in a row and slashes travel funding for occupational therapists by 50%. These changes are already driving providers out of the system and leaving participants without essential care.

Occupational therapists deserve fair pay.

NDIS participants deserve consistent care.

OTA is campaigning for an immediate price uplift, a fit-for-purpose allied health costing model, and a reversal of the 50% travel rate cut – and we need your voice!

Here’s what you can do:
1.Sign our petition to the Australian Government and NDIA
2. Email your MP using our prepared template - it goes straight to your MP + NDIS decision-makers

We also call on our OTA members to share this with your networks. The more Australians who speak out - participants, families, therapists, and allies - the harder it will be for decision makers to ignore the devastating consequences of this pricing decision.

💬 Support Workers – Have you heard of this?

If you're working as a support worker (or know someone who is), check out the Support Worker Association Australia. It's a great space for connecting with others in the field, accessing resources, and being part of something that truly advocates for the work you do.

They offer professional development, peer support, and a growing community that recognises the importance of high-quality support work across Australia.
