**AYURVEDIC STEWED FRUIT RECIPE**
**Ingredients:**
* 3 apples
* 3 pears
* 15 sultanas
* ½ tsp ground cardamom
* ½ tsp ground cinnamon
* 4–5 tbsp water or fresh orange juice
* Unprocessed sugar (optional, to taste)
**Method:**
1. Cut apples and pears into small pieces.
2. Place them in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
3. Add the water or orange juice, sultanas, cinnamon, cardamom, and sugar if desired.
4. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat.
5. Simmer gently with the lid on, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is soft and lightly stewed.
**Notes:**
* Sweet plums, passion fruits or other seasonal fruits can be added for variety.
* For proper digestion, **fruits should always be eaten on their own**, separate from other foods.
