SYNCHRONICITY

This morning Christie-Lee made it back to the mountains to finish the drum she birthed about a month ago 🌟

She shared how the birthing of the drum and again today its completion, exactly lined up with some important changes in her life 🙏

It was wonderful to see her drum again, now completely dried and to step through its adornment and the emergence of its full character 🌟

🌟 Seven Sisters Festival 2022 🌟

I am still recovering after returning from the festival this week.

It was an intense experience with adverse weather conditions for an outdoor stall, the physicality of setting up and a vehicle break down on the way home.

Spirit quickly guided new drum keepers through the mud to find their drums .

Such joy and a sacred precious moment as each one connected.

When they find each other it's all been worth it and my work is done 🙏

Blackheath "Men's " Shed has become a community shed with the Blue Mountains Women's Shed now sharing the resources one day a week.

It was a terrific morning working alongside other's 🪚🔫🔨🔧

I'm preparing for the Seven Sisters Festival in Victoria next week so i took along some work to the Shed today and enjoyed the company of other makers.

I have been recovering week by week and working away drum by drum towards the festival. Its been a long road and touch and go as to whether I could make it 🤞

What size & shape drum would you like to make?

All DHFD are custom built to size & shape.

Here is a custom made 8 sided frame with a 16.5" diameter, the size & shape requested by my clients course facilitator.

DHFD are all made of solid timber, cut to size, bonded, reinforced with biscuit joints, sanded & finished with linwax coating. This is a step by step, slow build process that takes numerous days.

I was blessed to be taught some years ago now, by to build these high quality frames.

The materials and methods used mean I can offer other drum makers any size and shape frame they choose for their drums 🌟

Solid timber, rather than manufactured timber, such as plywood, definitely makes a difference to the feel and resonance of the drum 🙏
