Travis!
Emergency Medical Technician
Volunteer Development Officer,
6 years

Meet Travis 👋

☕(Super Important!) Coffee order:
Large Flat White with a Caramel shot, or simply just a white coffee.

🌙 Long shift essential:
Either a Monster or Powerade and a bag of lollies.

😄 Known for:
Henry’s Dad by the kids.
Others might of seen me floating around at the hospital.

💪 Hidden talent:
Oh, I’m not too sure. They appear when they are needed.

🌿 Best part of small town life:
I love the community spirit, walking down the street and at least saying G’day to someone you know. Not having the bustle of the city.

✨ Why they do what they do:
Moving to Boddington over 6 years ago with no job and being a new parent, I wanted to get involved in the community some way. I joined St. John cause that’s what I know best. I have always been a big believer in community spirit and helping out where people need it the most.

🧐 What they think people might not know about what St John can offer:

St. John is more than an ambulance service. It’s about educating and getting involved with the community on what to do in the event that someone needs help. Over the last three years St. John Boddington has been going through a major transition period (but of a clean up) and I can’t wait for the community to see what’s in store this year. Especially the commencement of our Community transport for medical appointments in Perth. (More information on that coming really really soon)

Proud to have Travis as part of our small but mighty crew 💚

Stay safe everyone

TC Narelle's exact path is still uncertain, but it is very likely that it's going to get wet and wild, with much of the southern half of WA likely to see impacts including heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts and dangerous conditions along the coast including large waves and coastal erosion. ⛈️

Now is a good time to prepare:
•Review your cyclone plan
•Check and replenish your First Aid kit
•Get your required medications
•Pack an emergency kit with food and water for at least 5-7 days
•Secure loose items around your property
•Download the First Responder app for First Aid guides

Look after yourself and each other ❤️

St John Boddington, along with Kura Bear, had a fantastic time at the Annual South 32 Summer by the River event! ☀️🌿

This event continues to be a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local and surrounding communities. It was great to see so many families out and about enjoying the vibrant atmosphere, from market stalls and delicious food trucks to live music.

There was certainly no shortage of fun for the kids either, with activities including bungee trampolines, inflatable obstacle courses, bouncy castles, face painting, a petting zoo, wheelchair basketball, arts and crafts, and even a dedicated chill-out zone.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable day — we’re already looking forward to the next one! 🙌

Today, on International Women’s Day, we’d like to recognise the incredible women of St John Boddington. 💚🚑

In a small town like ours, our ambulance volunteers are not just responders; they’re neighbours, friends, workmates and familiar faces in the community. When the calls come in, they step up to care for the people around them, day or night.

Across St John, more than half of our members are women, and here in Boddington we’re proud to have a strong team of both new recruits and experienced veterans working side by side. Our newer members bring fresh energy and enthusiasm, while our long-serving women share knowledge, skill and steady leadership built over years on the road.

Together they make our sub-centre what it is- a small but mighty crew supporting our community when it matters most.

This International Women’s Day, we say thank you to the women who answer the call, support each other, and help keep Boddington safe. We’re proud to be on this team. 💛

If you’re a local woman who has ever wondered about volunteering with St John, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to come in with experience, just a willingness to learn and a desire to help your community.

St John Boddington would like to extend a massive thank you to St John Event Health Services, and to everyone involved in manning the First Aid post and providing assistance during the recent bushfires in Boddington.

A heartfelt thank you to all who took part in the bushfire response — from those close to home to those who travelled interstate and from far and wide to help protect homes and keep our community safe.

Our incredible community has come together in a time of need and is stronger than ever.
