Something we kept saying as we were climbing the Warrumbungles
“In 10 years’ time… will we still be able to do this?”

Not in a fearful way.
Just a very real, very honest question.

Because it’s not just about a hike, is it?

It’s about…
Being able to get up and down off the floor
Walking the beach without hip pain or hesitation
Travelling, exploring, keeping up with life
Feeling confident in your own body

And here’s what I want you to know:

That future isn’t something that just happens to you.
It’s something you quietly build — in the small things you do each week.

This is exactly why Alignment based Yoga exists.

Not to make you unhealthly hyperbendy.
But to help you maintain strength, mobility, balance and trust in your body… so you can keep doing the things that matter to you.

After that climb, my legs definitely needed some love 😄
But I’m also incredibly grateful for a body that lets me say “yes” to those experiences.

So here’s something to reflect on…

🤩 What do you want your body to still be able to do in 10 years’ time?

And… are you supporting that version of yourself right now?

Classes are back this week if you’re ready to start (or continue) that journey 💛

Sometimes stepping on the mat is the most difficult!
Mum took 78 years to start yoga.
And now? It’s her favourite part of the day. 💗

Another one of my beautiful clients came in litterally dancing with joy having maintained a 100 lb (that is 45 and a bit kilos)weight loss for 12 months.
On the left — my mum, taking her very first step onto the mat.

They couldn’t be more different… yet they both said the same thing afterwards:

> “I wish I’d started sooner.”

So let me ask you…
What’s really been holding you back from starting?
Is it time? Confidence? Or that quiet voice that says, “I’m too old… too stiff… too late”?

Because the truth is — the hardest part is the first step.
After that, it’s just breathing, moving, and slowly coming home to yourself.

I’m Isabel Gordon, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Acupuncturist and Specialist Yoga Therapist, and I help women in midlife find strength, peace and energy again through movement, breath and compassion.

💗 Whether you’re 18 or 78 — your body is waiting to thank you.

How Yoga Helped Sarah Reclaim Her Life After Burnout
(And Why It Might Help You, Too)

Just six months ago, Sarah, a 43-year-old teacher and mum of two, walked into our studio looking utterly depleted. She was running on empty—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Like many, she’d pushed through back-to-back terms, juggling a demanding job, family life, and the never-ending mental load of modern life. She was suffering from adrenal fatigue, insomnia, and chronic tension in her neck and lower back. Her words: “I felt like I was disappearing.”
She told me she'd tried bootcamp...but instead of losing weight, she'd actually put on 4kg! She felt guilty and frustrated.

The turning point? A single deep dive "comprehensive health evaluation. A tongue diagnosis uncovered she was deeply depleted. I referred her to her GP for a full blood analysis and stool analysis (her tongue analysis indicated parasites).
Winter...it's the ideal time to take a look at your own health in order to get really clear about goals that will work with your body not against it.
I recommended a private mindful movement and yoga session.
She didn’t think it would “work.” She told me, “I’m not flexible, and I can’t sit still.” But she came anyway. We started with breath-led movement and restorative shapes designed to soothe her nervous system. By the end of the class, tears rolled gently down her cheeks — not from pain, but from finally feeling safe enough to let go.

Over the next few weeks, Sarah committed to one class a week. Within a month, she was sleeping better. Within three months, her back pain had eased, her periods came back, she was smiling again, and her family noticed the difference too. “I feel like myself again — but better, I think this has saved my marriage” she said recently.

Yoga didn’t just help Sarah stretch her body — it helped her stretch her capacity to live with more ease.

🌿 Why I Created the Fitzroy Island Retreat 🌿

A few years ago, I found myself running on empty — giving a lot, holding space for others, but not quite knowing where my space was anymore.

Yoga had always been my anchor, but I needed more than a weekly class. I needed nature, nourishment, and deep rest — the kind that seeps into your bones. I craved connection without pressure, time without screens, and space to feel again.

That’s why I created this retreat.

Fitzroy Island is a truly healing place — the ocean is warm, the reef is alive, and time slows down. It invites you back to yourself.

This isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about coming home to your body, feeling safe in your nervous system, and remembering how good it is to rest and be cared for.

If you’ve been feeling depleted, stretched too thin, or just know it’s your turn for a reset… this space is for you.

Let me hold the container so you can soften, release, and return to yourself.

💛 Isabel

🌿 Why We Don’t Just “Stretch” in Yoga… 🌿

At Cabarita Beach Yoga, we go deeper than just touching our toes.
Our practice is about repatterning the nervous system, building inner strength, and cultivating self-awareness — tools that empower you on and off the mat.

🌀 Each class integrates:
• Mindful movement to soothe the vagus nerve
• Therapeutic somatics to release held tension
• Ancient wisdom from Yoga & Chinese Medicine
• And space to truly feel… not just perform.

✨ It’s not about how flexible you are — it’s about coming home to your body.
When you move with presence, you change the way you relate to pain, stress, and your daily life.
