✨ Our final workshop for 2025! ✨

As we wrapped up our last workshop of the year today, I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you.

In 2025, over 400 clinicians joined us for EMDR, imagery rescripting, trauma-informed practice and all the other trainings we’ve been privileged to run. Every single workshop was filled with thoughtful questions, generous sharing, and such genuine commitment to client care.

A massive thank you to our wonderful Wattle Centre facilitation team — Katie, Naomi, Brittany and Mel — and to everyone who supported us throughout the year. Your energy and presence make this work meaningful.

We’ve just wrapped up our Eating Disorders & Trauma workshop with the wonderful Olivia Patrick, and I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us today.

The level of skill, thoughtfulness, and clinical insight in the room was incredible. It’s always a privilege to teach this work, and to learn alongside such committed clinicians.

The EMDR Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society is pleased to present Sarah Dominguez, in a 1.5 hour online webinar: "From Helpless to Hopeful: Using EMDR to Help Clients with Depression".

This 90-minute presentation explores how EMDR can be conceptualised and applied as a transdiagnostic treatment for depression. Drawing on current research and clinical case examples, we will examine how to optimise the use of EMDR with this often complex and difficult-to-treat population. The session will highlight common challenges and provide practical strategies to enhance client engagement and treatment outcomes.

Whether working with acute depressive episodes or treatment-resistant presentations, this presentation will support clinicians in using EMDR therapy more confidently and effectively in their work with clients experiencing depression.

Held online 3rd September from 6pm - 7:30pm. This event will be recorded and available to watch on demand for 90 days post training.

🌟The Power of Imagery: A Practical Day on Rescripting and EMDR🌟
Co-facilitated by Dr Sarah Dominguez (The Wattle Centre) and Dr Rita Younan (Schema Therapy Institute Australia), this workshop is designed for EMDR and schema/ imagery rescripting therapists who want to deepen their combined use of these interventions.

We’ll explore how to use imagery rescripting alongside EMDR in a practical, ethical and effective way—without straying from the standard steps or protocols.

The workshop will include:

Almost home from the EMDR Europe Conference in Prague, where I had the chance to run a workshop, deliver a keynote, and—most importantly—catch up with some of the brightest and most experienced therapists and researchers around. Feeling grateful, a little tired, and very full (of both ideas and Czech sausages and schnitzels).

This week is all about Amsterdam! Today I was lucky enough to be able to visit PSYTREC and sit in on a team meeting and client sessions. For those who don’t know, PSYTREC is a well established intensive therapy centre that combines prolonged exposure, EMDR and intensive exercise. A great example of integrative psychotherapy delivering amazing results.
And a shout out to Suzy for making it all happened.
