I'm in New Caledonia and there's no filter required, it's seriously this beautiful. Crystal clear water filled with turtles and tropical fish, 28 degrees, the weather today was described as "partly cloudy" because, as you can see, there is a cloud in the distance. The food is french, the people have a certain je ne sais quoi, it's pretty delightful here.

Just 2 Minutes of Walking After a Meal Is Surprisingly Good for You
A new paper suggests that it takes far less exercise than was previously thought to lower blood sugar after eating.

Walking after a meal, conventional wisdom says, helps clear your mind and aids in digestion. Scientists have also found that going for a 15-minute walk after a meal can reduce blood sugar levels, which can help ward off complications such as Type 2 diabetes. But, as it turns out, even just a few minutes of walking can activate these benefits.

In a meta-analysis, recently published in the journal Sports Medicine, researchers looked at the results of seven studies that compared the effects of sitting versus standing or walking on measures of heart health, including insulin and blood sugar levels. They found that light walking after a meal, in increments of as little as two to five minutes, had a significant impact in moderating blood sugar levels.

Anyone make their own kimchi / sauerkraut / other fermented foods at home and want to sell me some?

"ingest two to four servings of fermented foods that are low in sugar each day. There is a recent study published in cell showing that the ingestion of fermented foods. 2 to 4 servings each day, can enhance the quality of the mucosal lining of the gut, that allows certain gut microbiota to flourish." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK2raaTK9xA

Dr Andrew Huberman mentions a few interesting studies on microbiome, especially a study on high fiber diet vs fermented foods, which one is able to reduce ou...

Your Health Your Choice, Australia's largest consumer campaign to protect people's choice in complementary healthcare, is urging people to let their Federal MPs know that they want natural therapy rebates restored.
Private health insurers, patients, health practitioners, researchers, educators, and small businesses can all have a voice. In fact, private health insurers have already expressed their desire for a failed Natural Therapies Review to be abandoned - instead asking Australia's Minister for Health, Greg Hunt, to allow them to decide for themselves what they offer to their customers, advising that 'there is no sound public policy argument for government intervention in this area' and that 'enough evidence already exists'.

How you can play your part and take action:

Join the 116,764 people (and counting) who have voiced their wish to protect their rights in accessing traditional medicine and natural therapies.

It only takes 30 seconds - you can sign here:

Natural therapies play a vital role in supporting people to stay healthy and manage chronic health problems, especially since Covid-19. But the Government continues to ban private health insurers from offering you rebates for health choices you value – even though they want to.

New Research Hints at 4 Factors That May Increase Chances of Long Covid

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/25/health/long-covid-risk-factors.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&fbclid=IwAR1KBZUS8jWwrphvKvDAgxAb7UEPMFbbwgGOXDnh-sYdKn6-zSRTGKXCWV8

One of the four factors researchers identified is the level of coronavirus RNA in the blood early in the infection, an indicator of viral load. Another is the presence of certain autoantibodies — antibodies that mistakenly attack tissues in the body as they do in conditions like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. A third factor is the reactivation of Epstein-Barr virus, a virus that infects most people, often when they are young, and then usually becomes dormant.

The final factor is having Type 2 diabetes, although the researchers and other experts said that in studies involving larger numbers of patients, it might turn out that diabetes is only one of several medical conditions that increase the risk of long Covid.

If further study confirms the findings, they could lead to ways to prevent and treat the complex condition.

Inhale twice to calm down
Stanford neuroscientist Andrew Huberman says double inhaling is “the fastest way that I’m aware of — that’s anchored in real known biology to calm oneself down — is an inhale through the nose, and then another inhale at the top.” https://podclips.com/m/nfkrVv?utm_campaign=Recomendo&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Revue%20newsletter

'This is the fastest way that I'm aware of that's anchored in real known biology to calm oneself down ... It's an inhale through the nose, and then it's another inhale at the top, and then a long exhale. That's the fastest way to slow your heart down and calm down.'
