📢 Our latest petition.
🌊 Protect Australia’s Oceans – Stop Seismic Blasting! 🐋

Australia’s oceans are home to the most diverse marine life on Earth, but seismic blasting threatens to destroy it. These powerful underwater blasts can kill tiny marine life over a kilometre away, deafen whales, and disrupt entire ecosystems. A deaf whale is a dead whale.

Right now, the Australian government is allowing seismic blasting proposals that could devastate marine parks, breeding grounds, and endangered species. We must end Special Prospecting Authority permits that allow these destructive practices.

🔹 Say NO to seismic blasting.
🔹 Say YES to protecting marine parks and ocean wildlife.

Australia’s oceans have the most diverse life on Earth. But for how long? If new seismic blasting proposals are allowed to go ahead by the Australian government, seismic blasting could take place in marine parks that provide critical breeding and feeding habitats for some of the most important and...

Lets see what the other states do.

Koalas will now be classed as endangered.

Governments at all levels need to do as much as possible to protect this Australian icon.

In our time in Government, we have introduced the strongest protections for koala habitat Queensland has ever seen.

Some of these protections include:

🌲 Ensuring koala habitat is mapped and regulated

🌲 Prohibiting development on more than 330,000 hectares of habitat and restricting it on 300,000 hectares

🌲 Ensuring koalas are protected and managed in Queensland’s national parks and protected area estate

🌲 Regenerating 145 hectares of koala priority areas

🌲 Installing koala safety shields along the M1

🌲 Investing $7.5 million into the SEQ Wildlife Hospital Network

🌲 Investing $600,000 into koala research projects

Would you choose food or a RAT test? It started in January when a Sydney charity said its call for 500 RAT tests per week went unanswered by the state government. Today the problem is much larger with reports that low-income Australians are skipping meals because of the costs of RAT tests.

Oh there must be an election soon. The federal government has announced its largest-ever investment in saving the Great Barrier Reef, promising $1 billion towards improving water quality, reef management and research. The move follows years of degrading conditions and devastating bleaching events, and the threat of an “in danger” listing by the World Heritage Committee.
