Senior teacher, Bertha Shakinovsky, at an intensive in Pune with Guruji BKS Iyengar, 1981. Bertha has been travelling to Pune, India, for many years to study with the Iyengar Family. She will be teaching classes at Iyengar Yoga Australia's National Convention in Adelaide, this November.

FEATURED SENIOR TEACHER: BERTHA SHAKINOVSKY

Bertha Shakinovsky started Iyengar Yoga at the age of 14 and has been a dedicated practitioner for over 40 years. She visited the Institute in Pune for the first time in 1981 and continues to visit on a regular basis to study with the Iyengar family. Bertha is a Senior Intermediate Teacher and currently teaches in Bondi Junction, Sydney.
Bertha has lived and taught yoga in South Africa, London and Australia. She has been closely involved with the Iyengar Yoga Association. She was the President of the South African Association prior to emigrating in 1984 and President of the Australian Association for four years from Oct 2011-Oct 2015
Bertha will be teaching at this year's Iyengar Yoga Convention, held in Adelaide, this November.

Sadly, will soon be leaving Pune at the end of a wonderful month filled with yoga classes, practice sessions and tasty Indian food. Sometimes a challenge, always an adventure here in Pune. Until next time...B x
