THE SCOLIOSIS TREATMENT JOURNEY

1. Initial Consultation

• Thorough assessment to determine your unique curve pattern type using the Rigo Classification (BSPTS).

2. Learning Your New Posture (4-6 weeks)

• Learn Schroth-based exercises in unloaded positions to expand your spine and ribcage in 3D, creating symmetry.
• Once you can independently correct and maintain your curve, you’ll be ready for the next phase.

3. Integrating Your New Posture into Daily Life (4-6 weeks)
• Incorporate skills from Phase 1 into everyday activities.
• Work on functional movements while maintaining spinal corrections.
• Resistance training introduced.

4. Maintenance
• Tailored to individual goals.
• Scoliosis-specific Pilates classes (max 4 people).
• Personalised exercise program with one-on-one check-ins every 6–12 weeks to adjust exercises and provide manual therapy as needed.

MEET PHOEBE ✨

Phoebe is a Physiotherapist based in our South Yarra clinic.

After earning her Master of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, Phoebe developed a strong passion for rehabilitating hip, groin, sacroiliac joint (SIJ), and lumbar spine injuries, having trained under renowned physiotherapist Andrew Wallis. She also has extensive experience managing sports and exercise-related injuries.

Phoebe has a particular interest in Women’s Health, having completed advanced training in exercise and musculoskeletal conditions during the ante- and postnatal periods. She is dedicated to supporting women through all stages of pregnancy and recovery with tailored, evidence-based care.

With a strong background in clinical Pilates, Phoebe delivers both one-on-one sessions and small group classes, integrating Pilates principles with strength and conditioning techniques to optimize movement and performance.

Over the past seven years, Phoebe has worked extensively in the sports industry, providing physiotherapy support to elite teams, including St Kilda Football Club (AFL), Melbourne United Basketball Club (NBL), Boroondara Express Netball Team (VNL), and Chisholm State Netball Teams.

Phoebe’s approach to rehabilitation is centered on evidence-based practice, holistic health, and patient education. She combines hands-on therapy with exercise-based techniques to empower her clients and help them return to the activities they love.
