Yoga Mamas Survival Guide
…Because enlightenment is harder with snacks stuck to your leggings🙄

With Mother’s Day around the corner, here’s my gift to you 💝

1) Lower your expectations… then exhale
Your pre-kid practice was 90 minutes of flowing bliss. Now it’s 7 interrupted minutes between “Mum!” and “Where’s my shoe?”
That counts. It all counts.

2) Redefine practice
Yoga isn’t just the mat anymore.
It’s breathing through tantrums.
It’s choosing not to react even when you really want to.
It’s finding stillness in chaos or at least not completely losing it.

3) Savasana looks different now
Lying flat in silence is unlikely.
It now looks like sitting in the car alone for 3 minutes, hiding in the bathroom, or staring into space with a cold coffee.
Take it. That’s sacred.

4) Use your kids as props
They will climb on you anyway.
Plank becomes a human jungle gym.
Downward dog becomes a tunnel.
Savasana becomes a cuddle pile.
You’re now teaching family yoga.

5) Breath is your secret weapon
Forget fancy techniques.
Just breathe before you snap.
Inhale I am calm
Exhale I will not yell over a sock
Repeat as needed frequently.

6) Let go of the perfect yogi
You can be spiritual and still swear under your breath.
You can meditate and still bribe with snacks.
You can teach mindfulness and still hide from your children.
Duality exists. You’re still doing great.

7) Early mornings are gold
Before the house wakes up is your best shot at actual yoga.
Even 10 minutes alone can feel like a retreat.

8) Accept the seasons
There will be phases where your practice disappears.
You’re not failing, you’re parenting.
Yoga will still be there when life softens again.

9) Community matters
Other mums and other yogis who get it.
Not the perfectly curated version.
The real, tired, trying, loving version.

10) Remember why you started
Not for the poses.
Not for the aesthetic.
But for grounding, sanity, and connection.
All of which you now need more than ever.

This in mind, we’re creating a fun Partner Yoga Workshop that sparks joy & connection with the ones we love! Whether you’re bringing your lover, friend or family - everyone is welcome. Using each other’s body weight, balance & strength, we’ll be exploring Yoga in a way that offers insight into your relationship dynamics, trust & communication. A wonderful way to explore the practice & one another in a lighthearted, interpersonal, beginner’s environment. Open to all levels of yoga experience.

Raising your frequency starts with becoming aware of what actually supports your energy on all levels. Even the smallest choices like the music you play, the quality of the water you drink & bathe in, a spell in Nature, or turning off your Wifi overnight… can either nourish your energy field or subtly drain it. So how do we Protect and Restore our Aura?

-When entering crowded places, visualize a white shield around you, or use physical gestures/ silent mantras to “close” your energy field, particularly around those that disturb your peace.

-Use sage, palo santo, sound & Reiki healing to clear stagnant energy from your body & home (book in a session with Sasha .oz ). Both sage and palo santo possess antibacterial & antimicrobial properties, making them popular for cleansing spaces. Sage is particularly noted to neutralize up to 94% of bacteria in the air, while palo santo is rich in limonene, which offers anti-inflammatory & antiseptic benefits.

-Walk barefoot on grass, rocks, or sand (grounding) to release excess, negative energy into the earth. Swim in clean bodies of water, particularly the ocean (ion & magnesium rich). Hug a tree - “forest bathing” offers various physical, mental, and emotional health benefits, such as reducing stress, lowering blood pressure & boosting immunity. Practice yoga or exercise Outdoors, or in a space that’s inspired by Nature & fresh air… I know a place 😉

-Use protective stones such as black tourmaline (absorbs negativity) or selenite. Wearing crystals (or having them in your home/ work space) like quartz, amethyst & obsidian influences energy fields, boosts/ releases/ balance emotions, promoting mental clarity.
