As Sunday evening rolls around, we’re taking a moment to reflect on another wonderful week here at Cherie’s Country Care. 💛

Working on goals, getting creative and getting out into the community.

Mr B had a fantastic day out and proudly made his very own bear – safe to say there were plenty of smiles and a bit of pride in the finished creation! 🧸

Meanwhile Ms C heard there was a quilt show in town, and well… you know we couldn’t miss that! 🧵

Wednesday Activity Day at 13 Alfred Street was another highlight of the week. We had such a lovely time making dream catchers, followed by a relaxed community BBQ 🌿🔥

And the fun doesn’t stop there…

We have some great Wednesday activities coming up, including:
✨ Another dream catcher making session this coming Wednesday
🪴 Lolly Jar decorating
🐰 Easter card and basket making
🎨 Paper mâché animal making
…and plenty more creative fun to come!

If you’ve been thinking about joining us for a Wednesday, we’d love to welcome you along. Keep an eye on our page for the upcoming dates and details.

From all of us at Cherie’s Country Care, thank you to our wonderful participants, families and community for making every week so special. 🌾💛

At Cherie’s Country Care, we’d like to take a moment to recognise the incredible work done by our local Fassifern Salvation Army and the wider team at The Salvation Army Australia. ❤️

Every day they quietly support people in our community who may be doing it tough - offering kindness, practical help, and hope when it’s needed most. The compassion and dedication shown by the Salvos makes a real difference in so many lives across the Fassifern area.

We have the utmost respect and gratitude for the work they do, and we are truly thankful to have such a caring organisation serving our local community.

If you ever have the chance to support them, volunteer, or simply spread the word about the great work they do, it all helps. 🌻

Thank you, Salvos, for everything you do.

Our Connect Site team of Volunteers are here to help you in times of crisis, with judgement-free support. We know that everyone struggles at some point or another either and with the continual rise in the cost-of-living expenses, things can become challenging. We are here to help. Come have a cuppa, enjoy a chat and receive support. Bread, vegetables and fruit may be available on Wednesday & Friday 9am - 12 noon. Donations of non-perishable food items (Tinned stews, soups, spaghetti etc), blankets, sanitary & hygiene items will be gladly accepted.

If you require Emergency Relief, please first phone the SAL (Salvos Assessment Line) on 07 3001 6288 during office hours - 9am - 5pm (Daylight Savings hours during summer). Once assistance has been allocated, this can then be collected during our local Salvos Connect hours.

✨ Wonderful Wednesday at 13 Alfred Street! ✨

Another fantastic morning today with Support Worker Tracey at Cherie’s Country Care - 13 Alfred Street with our weekly Wednesday activities. Today we got creative making beautiful dreamcatchers 🪶✨ and everyone did such an amazing job! It’s always so lovely seeing the different designs and the pride everyone takes in their creations.

After our activity we enjoyed a delicious community BBQ together - and today we had some fantastic helpers in the kitchen!

🔥 Miss C took charge of the BBQ and cooked the sausages to absolute perfection (we may have found our new BBQ chef! 😉)
🥗 Mr H prepared a fresh salad with an incredible homemade dressing that was a huge hit with everyone.

Moments like these are what Cherie’s Country Care is all about - community, connection, laughter and everyone getting involved. 💛

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day from Cherie’s Country Care! 🌸

Today we celebrate the incredible women in our community - the ones who uplift others, lend a helping hand, share a laugh, and make our little corner of the world a better place every single day. 💛

And today we have something extra special to celebrate…

✨ Our very own Cherie has been nominated for a Local Women in Business Award! ✨

Cherie started Cherie’s Country Care with one simple idea - bring people together, create connection, provide true care and support and make sure nobody feels alone in our community. From our Wednesday activities to the BBQs, the laughter, the creativity, and the friendships formed… it’s all about people caring for people.

This nomination is such a wonderful recognition of the heart, time, and passion Cherie pours into supporting others. We couldn’t be prouder! 💐

If you’ve ever shared a cuppa, a craft, or a chat at Cherie’s Country Care, you’ll know just how special this space is.

👇 Help us celebrate International Women’s Day by dropping a 💛 or a comment below to congratulate Cherie!

And if you know an amazing woman in your life who deserves a shout-out today, tag her in the comments so we can celebrate her too!

Because when women support women, incredible things happen. 🌸
