Earlier this week our commercial team, met with Mayor Geoff McDonald in Toowoomba to talk all things community!

We’re passionate about helping Toowoomba thrive, whether it’s through first aid training, community education, or keeping everybody safe at local events.

This is just the beginning of some exciting opportunities ahead, and we’re looking forward to working together to a create safer, stronger community across the region.

What a week!

As the Ekka comes to a close, we’re sending a massive thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers for going above and beyond. From providing event health services and running the St John Queensland stall to hosting our CPR races, your time, energy, and dedication make it all possible.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, we loved meeting you, swapping first aid tips and stories, cheering on the fierce CPR race competition, and spending time in the community we love.

Here’s to another safe, fun, and unforgettable Ekka. See you next year! 👋

As part of National Student Volunteer Week, we’re proud to celebrate our Event Health Services volunteer, Quinn, who was invited as a panelist for Volunteering Queensland’s Igniting the Spark: Inspiring Purpose-Driven Student Engagement webinar.

Quinn shared powerful insights on why young people volunteer and how meaningful service strengthens communities.

From starting as a student volunteer to graduating as a registered Paramedic, Quinn’s passion for helping others shines through his hands-on experience, dedication to creating meaningful volunteer opportunities, and mentorship of fellow student volunteers.

As a finalist for the 2025 Volunteering Queensland Youth Volunteer of the Year Award, Quinn is a fantastic ambassador for the incredible impact students make in volunteering.

Happy International Youth Day 🥳

Meet Hannah Green (far left in the photo), one of the many bright and dedicated young people in the St John Queensland Youth Program. 💚

“Being a part of the St John Youth Program has taught me that I'm more capable than I thought. Through learning first aid, developing leadership skills, making new friends, and taking part in events like St John’s Day, I’ve grown in confidence and built strong connections within my community.” – Hannah

Her mum, Jennifer, has also seen the difference first-hand:

“The change in my daughter since joining St John has been remarkable. She's gone from being quiet and shy to someone more confident and not afraid to put herself out there, take initiative, and genuinely believe in herself. Her self-esteem has grown so much over the past year.”

Hannah shows that growth isn’t just about learning new skills – it’s about finding your voice, building confidence, and realising you’re capable of more than you ever imagined. 🌟
