We saw so much creativity as children designed and made their puppets, and it was wonderful to hear the amazing stories they brought to life. We have some very talented storytellers in our community!

It’s always so special seeing kids head home not only with something they’ve created, but with stories to share with their loved ones 💛

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for Stroud Jr Landcare today 🌿

We had such a lovely morning foraging for natural materials and creating our own nature mobiles, so much creativity and connection to the environment!

We were also incredibly lucky to be joined by local author Rachel Barry, who shared a beautiful reading of her book Where Ripples Rise, set right here in Mill Creek where we gather each month. It made the experience feel even more special.

We’d love to see you next time, Stroud Jr Landcare meets on the fourth Sunday of each month 🌱

💙 Swallowing Awareness Day 💙

Swallowing is something most of us don’t think twice about… until it becomes difficult.

Difficulties with swallowing (known as dysphagia) can affect people of all ages, from babies learning to feed, to adults recovering from illness or living with neurological conditions. It can impact nutrition, hydration, safety, and quality of life.

As a speech pathologist, supporting safe and confident eating and drinking is a big part of what we do. Whether it’s helping a child transition to solids, supporting picky eaters, or working with adults to reduce choking risk, early support makes a difference.

🚩 Signs to look out for:
• Coughing or choking when eating/drinking
• Avoiding certain foods or textures
• Long mealtimes or fatigue when eating
• Frequent chest infections
• Difficulty coordinating chewing or swallowing

If you’ve ever had concerns about your child’s or your own swallowing, it’s always worth seeking advice.

Let’s keep the conversation going,
because eating and drinking should be safe, enjoyable, and stress-free 💙

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere. Women make an incredible impact in our communities every day, as leaders, professionals, mentors, and advocates.

In speech pathology, it is a privilege to work alongside so many inspiring women who are passionate about helping others find their voice, build confidence, and connect with the world around them.

Here’s to empowering voices, supporting one another, and continuing to create opportunities for women and girls to thrive.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

🌿 Clean Up Australia Day – Small Actions, Big Impact 🌿

Today is Clean Up Australia Day, a powerful reminder that what we do matters.

Days like today are a great opportunity to explore cause and effect and problem-solving in real, meaningful ways.

🗑️ What happens when rubbish is left in our waterways?
🐢 How might that affect animals?
🌊 Where does plastic travel once it enters the river or ocean?
♻️ What could we do differently to prevent the problem in the first place?

These kinds of discussions help children (and adults!) think beyond the immediate moment. They build understanding that actions have consequences and that we can be part of the solution.

Problem-solving isn’t just a classroom skill. It happens when we notice an issue, think about why it’s happening, and work together to change the outcome.

Clean up days are a simple but powerful way to show children that even small efforts can create positive ripple effects 🌱
