🌿 Welcome to the new chapter at Central Highlands Pharmacy! 💊

Hello Bothwell and Central Highlands community!

I'm Nikola, and I'm excited to share that I've recently taken over as the new owner of Central Highlands Pharmacy at 12 Patrick Street. Terry has done a wonderful job over the years, and I'm honoured to continue providing the same trusted, friendly service you've always known.

We're still your local, independent community pharmacy – here for all your prescriptions, medication advice, over-the-counter needs, vitamins, skincare, everyday health products, and more. With modern systems and a genuine passion for patient care, we're committed to supporting our close-knit town just like before.
I'd love the chance to meet you all! Whether you're picking up a script, need some health advice, or just want to say hello and introduce yourself – please pop in during our opening hours:

With the festive season approaching, Christine & I would like to wish the Central Highlands Community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Mentioning the New Year, you may have heard that we are retiring on 16th January 2026, as we have sold the pharmacy.

A big thankyou for your friendship, loyalty and support over the past eight years. Without you this community pharmacy would not exist, but as it turns out, it is here to stay.

The new owner is Nikola Stankovic who will take over on 16th January. He is a nice young man who is looking forward to serving this wonderful community.

I would like to encourage you to give Nikola the same welcoming and support, that you gave Christine & I.

We will retire with some very fond memories of the Central Highlands Community, and the friends we have made along the way

Confused about taking multiple medications each day?

We can pack your medicines in weekly packs, so you know you are taking the “right” medicine at the “right” time, and you shall never run out of any of your meds.

If you feel you or someone you care for would benefit from this service, drop into the pharmacy and discuss with Terry, Purvi or Zoe. We shall be only glad to help.

Easter is coming

The pharmacy shall be open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm right through April, with the exception of closing:-
Good Friday - April 18th
Easter Monday - April 21st April
Anzac Day - Friday 25th April

New staff at the pharmacy

- letting you know that I have employed Pharmacist Zoe on Mondays, and Pharmacist Purvi and Fridays who are working with Wendy (Grade 5 pharmacy technician).

Christine & I work the other 3 days in the week - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The extra staff have been employed to provide extra capacity to the pharmacy.

For example, we have expanded our delivery service to all areas of the Central Highlands to 5 days a week.

We deliver to: Bothwell, Hamilton, Ouse, Lakes District, Apsley, Melton Mowbray, Kempton, plus other areas.

News on Paracetamol availability as from 1st Feb 2025.

The Australian TGA has made a ruling that paracetamol 500mg (eg Panadol) can only be sold in packs of 16 in supermarkets. In pharmacy 50 packs are available over the counter for the appropriate user. For packs of 100 in pharmacies, they can only be supplied under pharmacist supervision, or via a Doctors prescription.

The TGA has made this decision to reduce the incidents of unintentional harm caused by paracetamol toxicity each year.
