Female Nurse Practtioner Taryn Dukes - now at Bowen Doctors 3 days a week (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday)
Taryn Dukes is a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner and Credentialed Diabetes Educator who provides patient-centred, compassionate care with a focus on women’s health, chronic disease management (including type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes), medical weight management, and health education. She emphasises listening, building trusting relationships, and supporting both immediate health needs and long-term wellbeing through education, prevention, and continuity of care.
With extensive experience working in rural and remote communities across Australia’s Top End, Taryn brings a culturally aware, holistic, and practical approach to healthcare. She offers both in-person and telehealth consultations and can assess, diagnose, prescribe medications, order investigations, and refer to specialists.
Taryn holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner), and is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator. She lives in Bowen with her family and is an active member of the local community.
Children under 16 and Implanon procedures are bulk billed, while ALL other consultations are privately billed.
