Juru Enterprises Land Management and Conservation team have been hard at work conducting W**d Management, propagation and restoration, feral animal, and turtle protection, within the Abbot Point Region protecting native vegetation and threatened species within the Bowen area. Over the past 5 years, the team has hand propagated and planted over 10,000 seedlings to combat erosion with severely degraded areas of the wetlands. This project developed with the CG and BMT has been successful to date, with diversity naturally occurring within the areas.
LMC had the successful year 2021-2022 year of nesting turtles with all nests hatching, this wouldn’t be possible without the help of the Whitsunday council have ramped up its feral animal project.
The LMC ( Land Management crew ) have conducted their first stages of fire training and assisted with Fire land conducting a fire management project that uses fire to combat weeds within areas within the wetlands.
Two of our Juru officers conducted and almost finished their dive masters and will be following up on the Coxen License to better protect Juru sea country, this is a massive thanks to QPWS to invite our Compliance officers to conduct the training through the sea country development project. These guys will soon be able to conduct fee-for-service operations in the near future.
Juru’s Compliance officers that work with GBRMPA and Fisheries have been doing an amazing job looking after Juru’s sea estate. They have asked if anyone sees any hunting or stranded animals or any other matters to please call our office on 07 4786 3002.

LMC has been successful in developing a great partnership with NQBP, CG, and Abbot Point Operations over the past 5 years delivering successful contracts through the years.
