Good news! Our Positive Behaviour workshop is so booked, we’ve outgrown our venue, and so we have upgraded to PCYC Bowen. All booked guests were notified by email today.

This workshop held by Cameron from Habitude is a rare treat for Bowen, and won’t happen again. So if you’ve been meaning to get a ticket, please do so now- you have until 7 November ⏰. I wont be taking last minute bookings once the catering is booked. Follow the link to secure your ticket.

I first learned about Social Role Valorisation Theory with CRU years ago. It’s something I still talk about today frequently, and even as recently as last week. What is it? It’s creating roles within community for people with disabilities - could be work, volunteering, being part of a team. I’ve also heard it be explained that if someone didn’t show up to that role, people would miss and potentially go looking for them if they didn’t show up.
I’m so sad I’m not in a position to go to this this time, but I encourage any other local Bowen providers to put it on your radar, if not already. Hopefully this event will hit the road and we can see it in Mackay or Townsville sometime soon 🥰.
