In honour of World Book Day, we wanted to share a few of the books that have shaped the way we understand and practise Chinese medicine. 📚🌿

Whether you’re just starting to get curious or looking to deepen your understanding, these reads offer a gentle window into how TCM views the body, not just through symptoms, but through patterns, balance, and connection.

You don’t need to read them all (or understand everything right away). Sometimes even a small insight can change the way you listen to your body. ✨

And if you’d rather be guided through it instead, we’re always here to help you make sense of what your body is telling you, in a way that feels clear, supportive, and personalised. 💛

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

At first glance, this sounds a little harsh… but the message is actually quite simple. 🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, balance is everything. Foods that are rich, heavy, or overly indulgent, like excessive meat and alcohol, can be difficult for the body to process when taken in excess. Over time, this can weaken digestion, create internal heat, and lead to stagnation.

This doesn’t mean you need to avoid these foods completely. It’s a reminder that nourishment isn’t just about what tastes good in the moment, but what supports your body in the long run. ✨

A balanced diet in TCM focuses on variety, moderation, and supporting the Spleen and Stomach, the core of your digestive system.

If you’ve been feeling bloated, sluggish, or out of balance, your body might be asking for a reset. 💛

Sitting for long hours can quietly build up tension in your hips, and over time, that stiffness can turn into discomfort or pain. 🪑➡️💥

This simple home exercise focuses on a supported lunge using a thick mat to gently open up the hips, stretch tight muscles, and bring movement back into the area. No fancy equipment needed, just a few mindful minutes can make a difference. 🌿

If you’ve been feeling tight, sore, or restricted from too much sitting, this is a great place to start. Move slowly, breathe, and listen to your body. ✨

And if the pain keeps coming back or feels deeper than just tightness, your body might need more targeted support.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

Qigong may look simple, but it’s actually a powerful way to reconnect with your body. 🌿

By gently regulating your posture, breath, and mind, you’re helping your energy (qi) move more smoothly — which can support better sleep, improved focus, reduced tension, and overall balance.

The thing is, many of us don’t realise how disconnected we’ve become from these basics. We hold tension without noticing, breathe shallowly, and carry stress in the body day after day. Qigong is one of the ways we begin to reset that. ✨

If you’re feeling tight, restless, low in energy, or just “not quite yourself,” your body might be asking for a little support.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

After periods of stress, fatigue, or feeling run down, here’s a nourishing way to restore your body from within. 🍲✨

Rich, warming, and deeply strengthening, this Beef Tonic Stew is a classic restorative dish designed to support energy and rebuild the body. Made with beef shank, lily flower, black fungus, red dates, and ginger, it’s a comforting meal that nourishes both strength and vitality.

Ideal if you’ve been feeling low in energy, recovering from illness, or simply needing something grounding and replenishing. This stew may help support qi and blood, strengthen yang, improve circulation, and calm the mind. 🌿

🔑 Pro Tip: Let it simmer slowly to fully extract the nourishment from the ingredients — the longer, gentler cook makes all the difference.

🌿 TCM Insight: Beef helps tonify qi and blood, red dates nourish and support the stomach, while lily flower and black fungus help calm the mind and support circulation. Together, they create a balanced dish that strengthens the body, supports recovery, and promotes overall wellbeing. ✨

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

Happy World Health Day 🌿✨

Most people think of health as something you deal with when you’re already sick. But more often than not, your body gives you quiet signs long before that.

The constant fatigue, the tight shoulders, the restless sleep, the bloating you’ve learned to live with… they’re easy to brush off, but they’re not random. They’re your body’s way of asking for support.

In TCM, we focus on these early signals: understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and gently guiding your body back into balance before things progress further. 💫

If you’ve been feeling “not quite yourself” lately, this might be your sign to pause and check in with your body. You don’t have to wait until it gets worse 💛

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

👁️✨ If your eyes have been feeling more tired, dry, or strained lately, it might not just be screen time.

In TCM, the eyes are closely connected to the Liver, and certain seasonal shifts can make them more sensitive. 🌿 When that balance is off, it can show up as tension, discomfort, or fatigue around the eyes.

We’ve put together a few simple eye exercises you can do anytime to help relax, refresh, and reset your vision. Sometimes small, consistent habits can make a big difference. 💫

And if the discomfort keeps coming back, your body might be asking for deeper support.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

If you enjoy working out, here’s something interesting: your cardio routine can actually be supported and optimised using Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. 🌿

From how you warm up to how you push your intensity and recover, different types of movement can help regulate and strengthen your Qi flow. It’s not just about working harder, but working in sync with your body. 💫

If you’ve been feeling fatigued, easily out of breath, or not recovering well after workouts, it might be a sign your body needs a little extra support.

Ever wondered why gua sha tools come in different materials? 🌿✨

From jade 🪨 and rose quartz 💗 to horn 🐃 and stainless steel ⚙️, each material creates a slightly different sensation during treatment. Some feel cooler and more grounding ❄️, while others allow firmer pressure to help release deeper muscle tension.

Spoiler: There isn’t a single “best” material. It often depends on the area being treated and what your body needs in that moment.

In the clinic, we choose our tools intentionally to match the type of treatment we’re doing. Sometimes the smallest details, like the material of the tool, can make a big difference in how comfortable and effective the treatment feels🌿

If you’ve been experiencing neck and shoulder tension, muscle tightness, or simply feel like your body needs a reset, gua sha may help support circulation and release built-up tension 💆‍♀️✨

💌 Drop by the clinic or book a session with us! We’d love to help you experience a treatment tailored to your body 🌱💛

🌟✨ Struggling with headaches, menstrual discomfort, or emotional stress? Meet LV 3: Tai Chong! ✨🌟

Located on your foot between the first two metatarsal bones, LV 3 (Tai Chong, "Great Surge") is a crucial acupuncture point on the Liver Meridian. 🌿💖

📍 Why It Helps: If you're feeling overwhelmed by stress or pain, LV 3 is your natural solution. It's especially effective for alleviating headaches, menstrual pain, and emotional distress by resolving liver stagnation and enhancing Yin.

💉 Finding LV 3: Place your foot flat, and find the spot just above where the big toe and second toe bones meet on the top of your foot. LV 3 is located in the depression here.

🌈 How to Apply Pressure: Gently press and massage LV 3 with your thumb, using small circular motions for 2 to 3 minutes. This technique helps soothe your body, calming your mind and easing discomfort.

✨ When to Use: Turn to LV 3 when you're experiencing symptoms like intense headaches or emotional ups and downs. It's a powerful point for rebalancing and revitalizing your energy.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.
