Dr. Nicholas Wilsmore from MIPG is the first Respiratory Physician in Victoria to perform procedures with the ground breaking Ion Robotic Bronchoscope. Nick is currently one of only 2 physicians in Victoria trained in the use of this technology, which enables quicker, safer, more reliable sampling of small pulmonary lesions and will hopefully lead to earlier lung cancer diagnoses, and cures. Our data on the real world effectiveness of bronchoscopic lung volume reduction with one way valves for severe COPD in an Australian cohort has just been published. This is now guideline based therapy for severe COPD.
