Free mammograms for women in Boyup Brook.
BreastScreen WA’s FREE screening mammogram service is coming to Boyup Brook from 8 December 2025 to 22 December 2025 and the mobile clinic will be located at the Shire of Boyup Brook Administration Office/Town Hall carpark on Abel Street.
Women 40 years and over with no symptoms are eligible for a FREE screening mammogram.
Breast cancer is the most common life threatening cancer for women and 1 in 7 women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
Having a screening mammogram (breast x-ray) every two years significantly increases the chance of a woman surviving breast cancer and reduces the amount of treatment required. More than 75 per cent of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50. Research shows that screening is most effective for this age group.
BreastScreen WA’s Director Dr Emmeline Lee said screening mammography was the most effective method for early detection of breast cancer.
“Screening every two years is vitally important to increase the chance of a breast cancer being detected when it is too small to feel or be noticed,” she said. “Finding a cancer at this early stage often means that the breast cancer is small and more treatable.”
“A free screening mammogram is one of the best things that women can do to look after their health. Breast screening saves lives and only takes 20 minutes.”
Screening mammograms may detect 70 to 90 per cent of breast cancers.
Any woman with a persistent change in a breast should contact her doctor immediately.

We would like to share with the community that Dr Nilesh will be taking some well-deserved time away for professional training and annual rest. His last working day before leave will be Friday, 19 September 2025, returning on Monday, 10 November 2025.

We know it can feel challenging with only one doctor in town, and we want to reassure you that this leave was planned and approved well in advance. Importantly, arrangements are in place to ensure continuity of care for our community during this short period.

We are actively seeking a locum GP to provide support, and in addition, for patients who need ongoing care, our team will help coordinate telehealth appointments, so your health needs continue to be met.

We thank you for your patience and understanding and remain committed to making sure our community continues to have access to quality healthcare.
