Could anxiety and stress be keeping you up at night? 😴

💤Research suggests that anxiety and stress can disrupt our ability to fall asleep and stay asleep, creating a cycle that affects both our mental and physical wellbeing.

⏰When we experience anxiety or stress, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone associated with the body's stress response. Elevated levels of cortisol can make it difficult to relax and unwind, leading to trouble falling asleep and poor sleep quality.

🌙The big problem here? Poor sleep can further increase stress levels by disrupting our body's natural cortisol regulation. This creates a loop where stress and poor sleep reinforce each other, making it challenging to break the cycle.

✨But there are strategies that work to break free from this cycle and promote restful sleep.

🌿Breaking tasks and your 'to-do' list down into smaller parts may help you to feel less overwhelmed and ensure you adapt as necessary, and stay in the present.

✨Could you try to:
•Prioritise what needs to be done first?
•Set realistic goals?
•Adapt where needed?
•Remove what isn't necessary?
•Get support?
•Stay in the present?
