Please stay safe, Brisbane! ❤️

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting Cyclone Alfred will make landfall somewhere between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast either late Thursday or early Friday morning.

Get yourself and your home ready by:
✅ Making an emergency evacuation plan.
✅ Securing any outdoor items like furniture, toys or trampolines.
✅ Clean out any blocked gutters and trim back trees.
✅ Prepping some emergency supplies like extra water, torches and a battery-powered radio.
✅ Getting ready to disconnect or shut down your gas, electricity, solar power and water services if needed.
✅ Keeping up to date with BOM’s severe weather alters and any advice from your local council.
✅ And remember, if it's flooded, forget it!

For flood emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
For life threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Well 2025 is well and truly here.

As we are already half way through January, we thought it would be a great time to introduce some of our fantastic Head Office staff.

Please welcome Taleah.

Taleah joined the Rosters team in September and has settled is very well.

Taleah and her husband Steve have 2 daughters, Savannah and Isla and love to get out exploring, camping and 4wding off the beaten track. They spent 6 months exploring North Queensland and visited Cape York.

Her favourite holiday destination is Fraser Island, favourite colour is purple and her favourite food is chocolate. She has 2 miniature goats, Gary and Milo and can't wait to get back out and explore more of what Australia has to offer.

Taleah is a qualified nurse but took a step back from nursing life when she had her children.

You will find Taleah on the other end of the Rosters Team phone so make sure you say G'day next time you call.

Welcome Taleah.

The festive season is a time of joy, connection, and celebration. For people with disabilities, Christmas can be a significant opportunity to enjoy time with loved ones, participate in cherished traditions, and create new memories. However, accessibility challenges and planning hurdles can sometimes make it difficult to embrace the holiday spirit fully.

Fortunately, with thoughtful planning and strategies, Christmas 2024 can be enjoyable, inclusive, and stress-free. With the wet weather around, it makes it difficult to get out and about so here are some fun ideas to make and do at home.

1. Christmas cooking and Christmas crafts

2. Paint your own wrapping paper

3. Make your own Xmas decorations

4. Plan their Christmas outfit

5. Making Christmas Cards

Pinterest and google have some great resources and ideas to help.
