The new 2025-26 NDIS price guide is published. From July 1 it applies lower rates to therapist travel time, lower physio rates, the removal of some plan manager fees, plus many smaller adjustments.

NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (previously the NDIS Price Guide) assist participants and disability support providers to understand the way that price controls for supports and services work in the NDIS. Price regulation is in place to ensure that participants receive value for money in....

The Annual Pricing Review 2024-25 has been released.

We have introduced pricing changes to ensure participants are not charged more than any other Australian for their supports.

Data has confirmed that people with disability have been paying ‘NDIS premiums’ for certain therapies, while those same services are being delivered broadly to other Australians at lower rates.

Everyone should be able to access public places, business and services, regardless of age and ability. But how?
Ask your local Qualified Access Consultant. AC's apply Australia's Access Legislation and Standards to your premises and help develop your Access Plan. And if you want to go above and beyond and include everyone, AC's can help by considering Universal Design, your industry benchmarks, digital accessibility, and non-mandatory Standards.

Younger Onset Dementia.

We're hearing from more people with younger onset dementia in our community, asking for OT support to help them stay in the community. But we are also coming across lots of barriers and system challenges to accessing the appropriate care pathways at the right time, as a person's symptoms and support needs progress.

If you have experience to share as a person with YOD, carer or clinician, consider joining the discussion.

******

The Joint Solutions Young Onset Dementia Project is being conducted.

The more data collected the stronger advocacy position for people living with YOD.

"Disability advocates Sara Gunning and Hellen Madzingira will be visiting Bridgetown on Thursday 18 April and available to speak to members of the public. No appointment is necessary as Sara and Hellen will be at the Community Kiosk between 10:30 – 2:30 to answer any questions you may have. Advocacy WA provides a range of advocacy services for people with disabilities living in the South West. Anyone with a disability can access this free and independent service. We are based out of our main office in Bunbury and visit Bridgetown every other month. However, if you need us to come more often we will – just let us know! Advocacy WA advocates for social change and service improvement in areas including accommodation, employment and financial security, education and training, transport, and access to specialist health services. Here is an example of how we helped someone recently: Susie, a mother of two children aged 15 and 18, has Motor Neuron Disease. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) asked her to move into a group-style home and Susie asked Advocacy WA to help her appeal this decision and get Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding to continue to live independently. Due to the intervention of Advocacy WA, the NDIS revised their previous decision and Susie was found eligible to move into her own apartment. If the NDIS review will impact you, I encourage you to be part of this organised feedback. There are certainly some proposals in the review that widen the metro vs rural gap, and will rely on our input for equitable codesign.
