Long time no post😍
I have some news.
The Natural Therapies Centre has been sold and the wonderful team are all moving out.
After the initial shock and yes sadness at leaving such a great work space and family, it's also exciting and change has certainly been a theme for 2021.

I have now found a new home at the equally special Henry Nouwen House situated at
16 Hester St Bridgetown.
I am very grateful to the lovely Dellys and the Board members for the opportunity. πŸ™

I will be packing up here after my last client on Saturday 9th October and starting at Henry's on Wednesday 13th Oct.

I will send you all a private message with details but I'm in a lovely front room overlooking the park with access from the front porch.

Once again, I feel blessed to have such an opportunity. A big thank you to my new family at Henry's and a big thank you and loving farewell to the Natural Therapies folk.

Peace, chocolate and blessings.

I am filled with gratitude that through the wild ride of 2020 Massage has not only survived but thrived.
There has been a significant shift in the awareness of our health and how precious it is.
Massage helps us reconnect with the body that carries you around 24/7 that we often take for granted until something goes wrong.
It's an incredible machine when you think about it and I love being an apprentice mechanic and figuring out how it all works. We'll never know it all and that's why I never get tired of helping people and learning every day from my clients and colleagues.
Thank you for your continuing support through my ups and downs and yours.
Grace and gratitude always

Since returning to work after the Covid19 shutdown it's been busier than ever and for that I'm truly grateful.
To keep myself well I need to practice what I preach. Taking time for resting and restoring so that I can be fully present when you're on my table.

Learning new skills, networking and receiving massages keeps me feeling fresh, inspired and curious.

I love to combine travel with learning and unfortunately trips to Brisbane and Greece were cancelled this year. But...... there's always a silver lining and I have re connected with my original Massage teacher Gay Riches.

I've just spent a couple of days in beautiful Fremantle attending a Pregnancy Massage Course at her fabulous place in Sth Freo. Such a cool area.
Updating my skills generally and specifically for Pregnancy and Post Natal massage gives me more confidence when helping women at this special time of their lives.
Blessings to just be.

Looking forward to returning to work tomorrow 8th June.
After 10 weeks I'm easing back into it and will slowly build back up again.
As you can imagine I've been inundated with requests and am doing my best to accommodate everyone. Unfortunately with a long backlog there is a bit of a wait.
Don't let that deter you though as the sooner you book the sooner I'll fit you in.
Covid 19 has given us time to reflect, time for self care and time to slow down and I'd like to keep the lessons learned as we resume back into daily life.
We still need to be aware and mindful and follow the hygiene guidelines put in place over the last few months.
Thank you for your patience, loyalty and support and I look forward to welcoming you on the table.πŸ™πŸ˜

Just a quick update.
I've had a few enquiries regarding if I'm back at work yet. The short answer is no. The long answer is hopefully soon. Only Remedial Therapists are allowed to go back and I'm not a Remedial Therapist. I need a Diploma for that. South Australia is letting Therapeutic Therapists return so that's promising.
Out of respect for my clients and myself I will return when it's safe to do so.
Peace, love and blessings. βœŒπŸ’•πŸ™

Fun Fact: a Sloth is my spirit animal, my friends call me " Slothy". I adore Sloths and definitely feel a connection with their slowness. I like to take my time and be mindful.

Temporarily having to close my business and finding ways of dealing with the physical, emotional and mental stress has lead me to call on my Sloth like characteristics more than ever.
I'm hanging in there and I sincerely hope you are too.
Love, peace and solitude.

I can't thank everyone enough for their kind, supportive words and thoughts. I feel reassured and blessed it's going to be ok.
Communicating on social media is certainly not my forte as negativity and hate can override the good but reading how supportive people are actually made me feel better and a lot less terrified.
Like everyone I'm going to be forced to change many aspects of my life and that's going to be a good thing.
I can now see clearly.......
-how filthy my house is.πŸ˜‚
-how bad day time TV is.
-how much my fur babies sleep all day.🐾🐾
- how little chocolate I've stashed
And - how comfy my couch isπŸ˜‚
Peace, love and isolation πŸ’•πŸ’•

I have been struggling for days writing an update about my massage practice as this is my only source of income and it terrifies me to be out of work even temporarily. But....as a health care professional it is imperative that I take my role as seriously as we are asking others to do.
Therefore as of tomorrow Thurs 26th March I will be suspending my practice, staying home to hold space for rest, healing and resetting so that when this is over I'll be ready to TOUCH again.

A heartfelt thank you to all my amazing, supportive clients, friends and family whom I know will be there on the other side of this hopefully short break.
Until then peace and love.

I'm back at my favorite cafe in Clontarf, Brisbane. A truly lovely part of the city on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Enjoying a healthy breakfast to start my day. Especially after a not so healthy but delicious end to yesterday.
Each year I come here to update my Finch Therapy skills with my mentor Kym Finch. Learning new skills and revising what I've already learnt is an important part of my Massage Therapy practice.
Today we learnt some techniques to help with upper leg, hip pain and side leg ( I.T. Band )as well as the upper Trapezius that is such an issue for many of us as it affects the mobility of the neck, shoulder and down the arm.
Both are areas of discomfort I see a lot of so its been a beneficial trip.
