Today, of all days, happened to be the day that I had time to process some beautiful rosehips I was gifted this week β€οΈπΉ
Infused in unconditional rose love, I went through a somewhat lengthy process for a small, but deliciously sweet batch of Rosehip Syrup, culminating with a delicious alcohol free beverage πΈ β€οΈπΉ
Of course, this Syrup is not only delicious, it is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants β€οΈπΉ
I used a recipe from which I will pop the link for in the comments (note: I halved the recipe for the stock I had) β€οΈπΉ

It is said that the essence of Elderflower brings the sweetness of life, reminding one to remain gentle and humble πΌπΏ
I haven't harvested any Elderflowers this season, I've simply been enjoying watching her starry flowers dance in the sunlight & her branches support the adventures of birdlife πΌπΏ

Do you drink herbal tea in hot weather?
My fav garden brew at the moment is common mint & lemon verbena. Beautifully cooling, calming & refreshing to the body ππΏ π΅

Felt so great to be back in clinic this week after a lovely, long summer break βοΈ
Though I must admit the heart strings were pulled a bit as my youngest started full time school π
However, being back in my craft of Herbalism sure does feel great π
This week was lots of check-ins with current clients & it's so heart-warming to hear how the herbal formulas held them through the festive season, keeping stress at bay, calming the nervous system, supporting tummy turmoils, soothing sleep & so much more πΏ
Here's looking forward to an amazing 2026 β¨οΈ

What a treat! β€οΈ πΉ
Rosehip tea, made from my garden π
You may recall my Insta story about my excitement of discovering sweet little rosehips growing intertwined with the oak tree (I'll repost my rosehip spam pics to stories) π
I have been slow drying the small harvest of hips & today made a cuppa from it, just beautiful.
Special.
Potent medicine.

Rosehip is a fav in my clinic dispensary too. An old-fashioned, often overlooked herb with many benefits - from it's nutrient content to adrenal support to digestive help and so much more. β€οΈβ¨οΈ

Here in West Aus the kiddies are back to school tomorrow. All the big feels for big kids, little kids & grown ups alike.
Remember to go easy, breathe & be kind this week.
It's a big adjustment.
New routines, new teachers, new peers & adapting to the rigorous school timetable.
Lots of cuddles, outdoor time, conversations & breathe! βΊοΈ
My number one, easy tip is the Bach flower essence Rescue Remedy. Place 4 drops in water bottles to help keep those big feels at ease.
Good luck everyone!
And I'm back in clinic Tuesday should you be in need of support ππΈπΏ

πΏ Fresh Thyme glyceract π
Such a wonderful herb for the respiratory system, add some sticky glycerol so it sticks better to a sore throat. "Making hay while the sun shines," as they say... this will be ready once the cooler shift in weather arrives.

You know you love your job when you find yourself yearning to be back in this space π
I'm very much enjoying summertime with my kiddies - lots of swimming and garden water play, riverside walks and of course me in the garden βοΈ
But yes, I'm finding myself wanting to be back in the office. Still a couple of weeks to go though (back in clinic start of Feb) & I'll be making the most of the remaining break! π

"Above the lowly plants it towers,
The fennel, with its yellow flowers,
And in an earlier age than ours
Was gifted with the wondrous powers,
Lost vision to restore." π

Last week I celebrated 45 laps around the sun βοΈ π βοΈ
2026 for me also marks 20 years since I graduated as a Herbalist! Wow! πβ¨οΈ
Take into account my years at college & I've been a Herbalist for over half my life! Bigger wow! Though, I've been listening to nature all of my life π π³
I have drafted a little blog looking back at my journey, so stay tuned for publication.
What should I do to mark this 20 year anniversary? I have a few little ideas, but I'd love to hear your thoughts π·πΏ
π· for now... here's me in relaxed holiday mode at 45 π

Hello, Iβm Jen the Herbalist. Herbs are my passion. I am a professional, dedicated and compassionate Herbalist, with experience in treating a range of health conditions in men, women and children from all walks of life. I firmly believe in the ability of herbs to help restore balance within the body and bring about an improved state of health.
It was through my own health journey, following a life-changing accident in my teens, that I came to discover my passion for natural medicine. Initially, I began studying Naturopathy, but I soon realised that it was the herbs I felt a special connection with.
βI describe myself as a traditional Herbalist, preferring to use liquid formulas as much as possible. I love liquid formulas because they capture the synergy of the medicinal plant components and can be tailored to suit each unique person and their individual health condition. My philosophy involves assessing the whole person, not just the dis-ease, and I aim to address the cause of ill health, whilst providing symptomatic relief.
With a special interest in stress-related disorders, weight management and digestive health, aim to help my clients better understand their health and give them the tools to assist in adopting lifelong habits for optimal health and wellbeing.
I offer natural health consultations (incorporating iridology), herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, boutique herbal tea blends, and handmade herbal creams. Skype consultations and prescription/product mail outs are available.
βI look forward to the opportunity to help you reclaim the health and vitality you once had.
