🌿✨ C H I N E S E H E R B S ✨🌿

One of the things I love most about Chinese Herbal Medicine is the simple beauty of the formulations. Perfected over thousands of years, on millions (billions!) of people, the ingredients are a beautiful piece of music, each supporting, balancing, enhancing one another for the greatest effect on your body and the most minimal side effects 🌿

This is Gui Zhi jia Ge Gen tang. A beautiful formula to nourish the blood, regulate the ying and Wei (the surface qi, that protects your body from invasion of pathogens). It’s wonderful for the stiff neck that comes with being sick, or on your period, or stressed, or in a cold dry environment (or many other causes!) This formula is an example of Chinese herbal elegance, it’s often very fast acting, and is great for those who go out without a scarf on in the Autumn! 🧣🍁

🌿🌿🌿

Chinese herbs work by addressing imbalance in the body. They’ll warm you when you’re cold, cool any heat, nourish you when you’re run down, or help things get moving when you’re stuck.

I often use herbal formulas alongside acupuncture, and they make such a beautiful treatment combination. Acupuncture helps shift things in the moment, and herbs keep that momentum going between sessions. Treatment supporting you gently, day by day.

When the right formula meets the right person, change can be fast and deeply felt. It’s so wonderful to see people sleep better, digest more easily, have pain free periods, better pregnancies and births, feel calmer, lighter, more content, and more themselves often in a much shorter time frame than with just acupuncture alone.

Most often, your formula will be as unique as you. Chinese herbal formulas aren’t one-size-fits-all. Each one is a carefully balanced blend, like a little herbal symphony, working together to support you in the most thoughtful, harmonious way. 🌿🌸🐚🍄‍🟫🌾💚

✨ A BIT ABOUT ME ✨

Hello! I haven’t yet properly introduced myself on this page yet, so here we go!

I’m Eryn, I’m a Chinese Medicine practitioner in Bridgewater, South Australia. I’ve been in practice since 2011, and I’m so glad to be back in clinic after a long maternity leave with my 2 year old son.

Along with my double degree in Chinese Medicine (acupuncture + herbal medicine) & Human biology from RMIT university, I’ve also got a graduate diploma in counselling from Adelaide Uni.

My interest lies in meeting people to where they are at, and cultivating a nurturing space, so you can relax, let go, and allow your body and the treatment to work in harmony for a better sense of well-being.

Of course, there are practicalities too! Chinese Medicine had a rich history of being a fully functioning medicine in its own right, and helping you with your body symptoms is something we can do really well. I just like to do that with a sprinkling of emotional support and nurturing ☺️.

I’ve experienced my own share of health and fertility trials over the years, so I bring a shared experience and empathy to many of my patients, and I understand that life isn’t all peace and harmony. I’m happy to get down there in the trenches with you, support is so important in the rough times of life.

If you’d like an appointment, please DM me, and have a beautiful day.

Eryn 🌿

Our Story

In 2010 I graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor Applied Science majoring in Chinese Medicine/Human Biology. In 2011 I completed an Advanced certificate of 5 Element Acupuncture*, and in 2012 I completed a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Adelaide University. Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese art of inserting small needles into specific locations on the body. Acupuncture works on the functional aspects of the body; using the neural system, activating the immune, blood and lymphatic system, and as a flow on, activating the endocrine system, it can instigate change in the running of the body. Research has shown Acupuncture to: 1. Boost immunity by increasing white blood cell count 2. Calm the nerves, and relax musculature 3. Regulate Hormones - especially stress and reproductive hormones 4. Reduce Inflammation 5. Reduce pain by dampening the brain's response to pain, as well as reducing pain at the source. I have seen my clients time and time again completely relax and re-centre during their treatments. I am also a fully qualified Chinese Herbalist, and I often will supplement my Acupuncture treatments with herbal medicine, either in raw form, or pills. I want your treatments with me to be relaxing and enjoyable, and your experience of Chinese medicine to be educational. I want you to find out about your body's wonderful strength and ability to be well! All the best in your health and happiness, Eryn
