The PACE Program will continue to provide care to our Community who need pulmonary, heart failure and cardiac rehab 👏.
Over the past two years we have pivoted between Telehealth and clinic based service as dictated by COVID. We will continue to always provide an individualised service that meets the needs of each patient🫀🫁 .

PACE PROGRAM | Funding extended for 12months.

The Murray PHN has extended the PACE (Pulmonary and Cardiac Exercise and Education) program funding for a further 12 months.

This will allow Alpine Health and Partners; Equilibre Health, Kiewa Valley Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy and Ovens Valley Physio & Pilates to continue offering high quality Cardiac and Lung rehabilitation to the communities of the Alpine Shire.

With Winter in the air, our Nordic Walking group is continuing to run through the cooler months in Bright.

Participants have recently said that having a set time and group to walk with has helped them get active on those cold mornings.

Please get in touch if you would like to find out more or to ask if you are eligible for the Exercise Right For Active Ageing subsidy.

👟 Our Alpine Pole Walking Groups have been featured in the MOVE Magazine (link below)! These groups were supported in 2020 by a bushfire grant from Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and run in partnership with Alpine Active Exercise Physiology and Alpine Health.
We are so proud of the program outcomes and the continuation of groups into 2021 🥾

A new study has found that a combination of aerobic exercise and mindfulness training can help reduce fatigue in breast cancer survivors.

After going through rigorous treatments, cancer survivors often experience mental and physical fatigue, anxiety and poor sleep. Other researchers have found that exercise or relaxation can help relieve fatigue, but the new study tested a combination of both.

The study included 40 women. The group that took part in a combination of exercise and mindfulness reported a drop in fatigue levels from moderate to mild.

This supports the idea that two health behaviour interventions are better than one, and can work just as well, if not better, together.
