Remedial therapy is different to other forms of gentle relaxation massage as it targets only the problem areas to alleviate pain. A remedial massage therapist undergoes extensive training to gain advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Remedial Massage is used for the prevention and management of injuries, particularly soft tissue injuries. Therapists are trained to assess the source of the condition in your body, observe changes over time and tailor individual treatment plans for each client. Remedial massage is not a whole.body “feel-good” massage.
Remedial massage targets specific problem areas and treats them. Specific techniques are used to address your injury, muscle, postural or joint issues. Remedial massage may be performed in conjunction with other health professionals such as a Physiotherapist as part of a wholistic treatment plan.
If you are experiencing a specific pain issue that you want to focus on to fix remedial massage is the right treatment for you.
People often ask for a deep tissue massage but really they need a remedial massage as deep tissue massage is a relaxation massage only.
