We wish to inform you that Dr Mahila Abbass will not be returning to the practice following her maternity leave. Dr Abbass has made the decision to step away from general practice to focus on her family.

While we are saddened by her departure, we would like to thank her for the care and dedication she has shown to her patients over the last few years. She will be greatly missed by both staff and patients alike.

New Street Medical Centre is excited to announce that Professor Danielle Mazza will be joining the medical team commencing May 6th, 2025.

Danielle has worked as a GP in Brighton since the birth of her youngest son in 2003. She is the Head of Department of General Practice at Monash University, was previously the Medical Director of Family Planning Victoria and is the author of “women’s health in general practice” a textbook for general practitioners.

Committed to delivering holistic, evidence-based care across the whole range of conditions seen in general practice, Danielle particularly enjoys offering care in women’s sexual and reproductive health (including contraception, endometriosis, PCOS, preconception care and menopause), providing preventive health advice and providing mental health care.

Pregnant people in Australia between 28-36 weeks gestation are now able to receive a free Respiratory Synctial Virus (RSV) vaccine through the National Immunisation Program. This vaccine will provide passive protection to infants and prevent lower respiratory tract infections caused by RSV. To book an appointment contact reception on 9595 9777.
