In this video, Vicky shows us some excellent hip and glute combinations to try with a gym ball. 🤸🏼‍♀️

1- Double leg roll in -> Bridge
2- Single leg roll in -> Bridge
3- Double leg bridge -> Roll out

Give these a go and really challenge those glutes and hamstrings! Start with the first combination then build your way up.

Want to challenge hip stability and get those hamstrings + glutes firing? Try the single leg arabesque! 🦩

The hip hinge is a really important component here. Imagine you are a tipping bird, making sure you stick your bottom back.

If this feels too difficult, try it unweighted first and you can also have 1 foot on the floor for some additional stability. Like a kickstand!

Lea has recently moved back to Adelaide after 5 years working in Melbourne and brings with her a wealth of experience in private practice.

She loves helping people with back and neck pain, osteoarthritis and chronic pain, and is passionate about helping our clients keep doing the things they love.

HIP SERIES 3:
Another classic, the banded crab walk! 🦀 Most people will get this one wrong and struggle to feel their side glutes working.

To help up your game, have a hip hinge, make sure your feet are in line with your knees and imagine your legs are big planks of wood moving together.

To make this exercise easier, have the band higher up your leg and to make it harder, have the band around your feet! Start with 3x6 steps each way. 😁💙

HIP SERIES 2:
Moving on to a great hip stabiliser exercise. Rick calls this one the nut bush. Have 90% of your weight on your standing leg and tap out to the side and then behind you. You should feel your standing leg working hard to keep you stable.
