Feeling uncertain about NDIS changes? You’re not alone.
Many Exercise Physiologists and allied health practitioners are worried about what “Thriving Kids” and the NDIS review will mean for their work.

Here’s my take: uncertainty doesn’t have to mean instability. In fact, this is the perfect time to step up and show your value.

Instead of waiting for clarity, now is the moment to strengthen your skills, refine your services, and build resilience in your practice. Families and funders will always choose the clinicians who go above and beyond.

I’ve written a new blog on this and what you can do to future-proof your practice. You’ll also find the October Knowledge Corner special full of tools and templates to help you step into paediatric practice with confidence.

In a recent study, 110 children aged 10-13yrs wore sensors to track their daily activity for a week. The results? Kids who exercised over an hour daily had lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol during stressful tasks than those who were less active.

Regular physical activity not only benefits physical health but also appears to enhance resilience, helping children better manage stress both physically and mentally.

Let's walk together. Calling allied health professionals

Our mission at KHP is... To leave no child behind. But the changes everyone is talking about are a bit scary. I am scared that kids are going to be left behind, but none of this is new to me.

There have been so many changes over the last 15 years, to not being recognised, to loads of funding in early education centres, to none, to NDIS being hugely supportive, to NDIS being at risk.

For over 15 years, I’ve seen how movement changes lives. After graduating in 2009, and working across weight management and chronic disease I saw what inactivity does to children. I started Kids Heart Pilates in 2010 and wow has it grown, it has evolved into a mission bigger than me.

At Kids Heart Pilates, we empower children through joyful, engaging movement experiences. We create safe, supportive environments that nurture physical literacy, motor skills, emotional regulation, and social development. And we do it in partnership with families and educators, so every child feels seen, heard, and valued.

My Courses and in particular my all inclusive The Paediatric Practitioner - Knowledge Corner is about giving you, the practitioner, the tools, strategies, and resources to do the same.

Together, we can widen our reach, build resilience, and make sure no child is left behind.

I have gone all out in October so together we can up-level what we are doing.

And if you want to connect further, join our Facebook group of 1200+ practitioners where I answer your paediatric questions every day:

In Australia, around 1 in 4 children aged between 4 and 15 years live with obesity or are overweight. Which is probably not surprising as only 41% of Queensland children 5–17 years were undertaking sufficient physical activity and this sky rockets for the disability sector.

Fitness Testing similarly highlighted that only 65% met cardiorespiratory standards (in a 20m shuttle run test) and only 36% met standards for muscular fitness (a standing broad jump test).

Aussie kids fitness is on a decline. So what are we doing about it?? Parents, educators and health professionals we need to come together and attack this from the top.

This month, I'll be going live every Wednesday and sharing some valuable insights from my journey over the last 15 years and then if it vibes with you and you want so so much more, you can take advantage of my amazing offer and one off SALE saving over $1000.

It is on sale just for this month so get in quick and nab 20 ESSA points before the 27th of October.

I had the nicest time down in Mornington and Werribee presenting my courses. I loved it. Connecting with my people, sharing something that I LOVE. And a bit of adventure on the side!

I came a few days early and filled my cup exploring and settled in so I was ready. I did 2 days straight teaching my courses and I would have thought I would be exhausted but I left feeling so invigorated, knowing that this is what I should be doing and I did it in a way that served me in so many different ways!

Cannot wait to do more of it next year!❤️

These stats are what drives me on the daily

1. According to the AEDC 22% of children are developmentally vulnerable and 21.5% of children at risk or vulnerable in their physical development.

2. In Queensland 2 in 3 adults & 1 in 4 children live obesity or are overweight

3. Modelling shows that children born in the decade starting 2023 have a shorter life expectancy than that of their parents, with a projected reduction of up to 5 years off their life expectancy due to the impact of weight related diseases.

4. According to self-reported data from the ABS, in 2011–12 less than one-quarter of children aged 5–14 undertook the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

Imagine a world where exercise physiologists are widely recognised & respected for paediatric interventions. Imagine a world where you were playing a part to change these statistics.

I am putting something together this October that will take steps to making this a reality.

But we have work to do.

Exercise is undervalued as an intervention, despite it holding incredible potential for holistic development. The thing is, you're most likely already doing so much more than you realise in your therapy, you just don't know yet.

I am here to help you tap into the power of exercise, help you educate & communicate your value, & make a profound impact on the health of Australian children.

If you feel like..

You are not being recognised for paediatric work.
You are losing funding for your services.
There are limited paediatric clinical opportunities.

You don’t know how to approach & collaborate with other allied health disciplines.

You lack confidence on your impact beyond the motor system.
Assessments and reporting overwhelm you.
You lack confidence in working with kids.

Then stick with me. I am going to show you
💙 How we can make exercise holistic for children
💙 How to nail your assessments & set up your therapy
💙 How to build service resilience

This month I am going a bit nuts & stacking on the value AND stripping the price of The Paediatric Practitioner Knowledge Corner (20 ESSA Points). So if you have been wanting to join my courses, there couldn't be a better time!
