⛰️ Climbing Australia’s 15 highest peaks in one day… all to support children with hearing loss💙

On 9 January, Stuart and Paul are taking on a massive challenge: summiting 15 peaks in 24 hours to raise $15,000 for Hear and Say – that’s $1,000 for every mountain.

For Stuart, it’s personal. His sons, Archie and Ollie, were both born profoundly deaf. Thanks to their cochlear implants and the support of Hear and Say, they’re now thriving in a world full of sound. 🦋

You can help Stuart and Paul reach their goal and change the lives of more children.

Donate and be part of their climb.

2 months post switch on and we have loved watching Oliver react and respond to all the different sounds around him. He is very observant of noise turning his head towards sounds and wanting to know where it is coming from. A milestone reached of turning to our voices and startling to sounds. Audiology has decreased to monthly instead of weekly and we have found Oliver’s hearing threshold. This means he now has access to all frequencies of sound from a whisper to monster truck engines. Thank you to all those asking how Oliver is going with his implants!

The moment we have all been waiting for: Oliver’s first time hearing our voices! 🥹 Thank you Hear and Say for providing such a supportive, positive experience once again celebrating our boys first sounds and God’s goodness. 🎉

Our brave boy! Successful implantation of bilateral cochlea implants at Queensland Childrens Hospital yesterday. Everything went as planned taking 3 hours plus recovery time. Oliver was sleepy and a little sad overnight but woke up with a few sly smiles and moving around. Look forward to switch on next Wednesday (3rd September) at Hear and Say!

Even though Oliver has been wearing hearing aids for the last six months they have not given him adequate access to speech sounds even with the hearing aids turned up as loud as possible. Tomorrow Oliver goes in for implant surgery. Needless to say we are glad to not hear this sound again!
