Is carb bad for you, what about the 'naked' ones?!

All carbs need to be broken down by our digestive enzymes to be absorbed. Digestion of complex carbs is a much slower process than simple carbs, leading to a more gradual blood sugar increase.

Health misinformation remains an enormous public health challenge, risking the overall health and expenditure of consumers. Unscientific (and usually viral) claims about fad diets and dietary elimination, va**ng, vigorous and damaging physical activity routines, or sleep supplements and myths can lead to dangerous side effects.

HealthWise aims to combat health misinformation, promote health literacy, and help consumers make informed health choices.

CQUniversity Australia

University researchers have banded together to form a specialised group that aims to combat health misinformation and promote health literacy.

Salt adds to the taste and flavour of our food. But too much salt can lead to many health problems, most importantly high blood pressure – the leading cause of heart attack and stroke.

Here is an article published by our team on how effective are behaviour change interventions to reduce salt intake.

Have you ever used Diet Apps to track your diet or help achieve your weight management goals? Or prefer not using them?

Whether you are a user of these apps or not, CQUniversity researchers would like to invite you to complete an online questionnaire to explore your use, preference and reasons for not using these apps. The questionnaire will take around 15 - 20 minutes to complete. All Australian residents 13 years of age and older are eligible to participate.

We eat too much salt! We add it to our food during or after preparation and we eat many manufactured foods and meals that are high in salt content; often this happens unknowingly!
