The Christmas Party Brisbane in the
TEC- Autistic Tribe QLD SENSORY SPACE!?

We, once again, have the absolute privilege of creating and hosting a space, separate to the main hall for those who need a little time out from all the excitement.

It is the absolute highlight of my year to see the result of a years hard work and dedication from the team who make this event happen. The children’s smiles and squeals of joy are pure magic and we are incredibly proud to be a small part of their experience.

We need volunteers to make this happen so please contact me (Sarah Nelson) if you can spare some time on November 22nd at Brisbane Convention Centre to help us and the community.

Who knows! You might come home with more than you expected to!! 🐐🫶

Thriving Kids Program is specifically designed to reduce the rate of autism diagnosis in very young children.

Autism is neurological, it literally IS our operating system and although outward displays of behaviour can be altered (people taught to mask their true self), the long term effects of this are catastrophic.

The bottom line is money. The government wants a reduction in diagnosis to reduce costs of supports. Reduction in diagnosis rates DOES NOT equate to reduction in actual autistics! It means babies have been trained to behave in a more neurotypical manner, ie. mask. It is cruel and dangerous.

If Australia can’t fund the NDIS, lets look at another SUITABLE program in consultaion with the people it directly effects.

If this program is enacted, we can look forward to a new generation filled with mental health issues, increased su***de rates and substance abuse.
Please sign this and any other petition that is created to stop Inklings and Thriving Kids programs.
Consultation with community is vital.

Protect Autistic Kids: Stop the ‘Thriving Kids’ Behaviour Program

Attendance is by invitation only for children aged up to 12 years old who are eligible for the NDIS (not necessarily receiving it but must meet eligibility requirements).

Tickets are limited and there will likely be more requests than tickets.

If you are in a position to VOLUNTEER for this party, which is the highlight of the year for so many, please email me and we will create a TEC team!

Setup Day 21 November - Set up
Help transform the venue by:

Unpacking and setting up the Toy Room
Setting up tables, chairs, and signage
Unloading deliveries of food and supplies

Saturday 22nd November – Party Day
Get involved in the fun by:
Serving food and drinks
Handing out presents
Assisting at rides and activities
Helping with line management and general volunteer support

PS. We are also hosting the Sensory Space again this year (my absolutely favorite event of the year 😍) so stay tuned for a call out for volunteers for this space as well.
