To clarify further my last post, these are my observations from hundreds of interactions with a broad cross section of society...
People at a point just accept their plight when it comes to medical conditions.
"I am this" (whatever the diagnosis is)... examine the readily available options... maybe get a second opinion... and then begin to adjust to what appears to be, based on what is largely understood to be an incurable condition.
My challenge in this world is that people, through these diagnoses, have a lightbulb moment of understanding... everything starts to make sense, why they are how they are... and then just give in to it.
Now, I know there is no convincing anyone of anything they don't want to consider... you can't lead people to change.
My work is both simple in its essence but also complex in that the pathways are unique to every individual, in any particular context.
You have your condition... this is due to being dysregulated... compensation due to what? Stress. At a point, the body, mind and spirit become overloaded.
I work with the dynamics that caused, and continue to contribute to the stress, which lead to the compensation and dysregulation in the first place, ultimately resulting in the conditions that people have been diagnosed with.
I speak of my experience as someone who has, does, and continues to help... both in session, and in speaking with the public...
The vast majority of people (including people who work in various forms of complimentary therapy and natural medicine) flinch, and become very protective of themselves when someone like me says, "It doesn't have to be this way... I can help."
I had someone very close to me read my post yesterday and say that it seemed a little angry...
I'm not there, but it can be frustrating... and I do find it bewildering.
People will accept help up to a point... let me grab that for you. It looks heavy.
But if you say, "hey it doesn't have to with me, or even in the spectrum of what I do, but you do have options... you dont have to accept this label, or this diagnosis as being just how it is"... as I said yesterday. We are complicated creatures.
None of this replaces medications, other therapies or support. But it does over time, get to the heart of things, so the stress and dysregulation begins to subside to the point where the body starts to function properly again.
When you cut your finger... you exoect it to heal, right?
We have amazing healing capacity. We are incredible creatures. But we are very messy, and we listen to bu****it that stitches us up and puts a slowly descending glass ceiling on our quality of life.
If you know me, and have read this, you know there is no s**t about me.
You can have a better life.
Find the right person to help you. Whoever that is. You will be glad you did. It will take work, but you will improve.
In your own time, when you are ready. Because you have to want better before you can have better.
