โœจ Endometriosis & the Bladder

Endometriosis & Constipation ๐Ÿ’ฉ

Constipation isnโ€™t just โ€œnot going regularly.โ€
๐Ÿ‘‰ It can mean straining for more than 5 minutes, passing hard or dry stools, bleeding or haemorrhoids, or even fluctuating between constipation and diarrhoea.

For those with endometriosis, adhesions, inflammation, and pelvic floor tension can make constipation worse.

While constipation is common, persistent symptoms can sometimes signal something more serious โ€” like bowel disease or bowel cancer โ€” so always chat with your GP and donโ€™t hesitate to ask about a colonoscopy if symptoms continue.

โœจ Support your gut health through hydration, balanced fibre, movement, and pelvic floor relaxation.

Did you know constipation is
A common but often overlooked symptom of endometriosis?
Adhesions and inflammation can restrict bowel movement, leading to bloating, straining, and pelvic pain.

Here are a few gentle ways to help manage it ๐Ÿ‘‡
๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated โ€“ water helps soften stool and support digestion.
๐Ÿฅฆ Include fibre-rich foods (veggies, fruits, whole grains) โ€” but introduce them slowly.
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Move daily โ€” gentle walks or stretching can stimulate the bowels.
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Try pelvic floor down-training and relaxation techniques to reduce tension.
๐Ÿ’จ Donโ€™t ignore the urge to go โ€” delaying can make constipation worse.
๐Ÿ’Š Check in with your pelvic floor physio or dietitian for tailored strategies.

Your gut and pelvic floor are closely connected โ€” supporting one supports the other ๐Ÿ’›

Did you know one of the most common side effects of endometriosis is chronic constipation?

Endo can cause adhesions โ€” bands of scar tissue that make organs like the bowel stick together or move less freely. This can lead to:
๐Ÿ’ฉ Chronic constipation
โšก Pelvic and back pain
๐Ÿ˜ด Fatigue
๐Ÿ’ง Pelvic floor dysfunction
๐Ÿšป Even bladder symptoms or incontinence

Itโ€™s not โ€œjust bloatingโ€ โ€” these symptoms are your bodyโ€™s way of saying somethingโ€™s not right. The good news? With the right support โ€” from pelvic health physio, nutrition, and medical care โ€” you can manage these symptoms and improve quality of life. ๐Ÿ’ช

21/10/2025

Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it โ€” often around the pelvis, ovaries, bladder, or bowel.
These cells respond to hormones just like the uterine lining, which can cause pain, inflammation, scarring, and fertility challenges.

Common symptoms include:
โœจ Painful periods
โœจ Pelvic or back pain
โœจ Pain with in*******se or bowel movements
โœจ Fatigue or bloating

Itโ€™s more common than you think!
Youโ€™re not alone, and with the right support, you can manage it and live well ๐Ÿ’›

16/10/2025

Our journey really began 15 years ago โ€” when I graduated with a dream to one day create a clinic that felt safe, personal, and never made anyone feel like just another number or rushed through the door. ๐Ÿ’ซ

We started small โ€” doing home visits while I worked in another clinic, then renting a single room in New Farm, before finally taking the leap to leave my other job. From there, we grew into our better and more beautiful West End space and now have opened our second clinic on the Northside at Nurture Gynaecology. ๐ŸŒธ

Itโ€™s taken blood, sweat, and tears to get here โ€” from 14-hour days and 6-day work weeks solo, to building a beautiful team of 4! ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

There have been highs and lows โ€” from feeling like a total boss one day to wondering if Iโ€™m failing the next. From shutting down during Cyclone Alfred ๐ŸŒช๏ธ, to pushing through my own endometriosis diagnosis, pain, and fatigue while still showing up for my patients with a smile.

Through it all, our mission has stayed the same โ€” to empower you to live your best life, regardless of your diagnosis or where in the circle of life you are. ๐Ÿ’›

Watching our patients thrive and feel empowered despite their challenges โ€” thatโ€™s our why. ๐Ÿ™Œ

I couldnโ€™t have done it without:
๐Ÿ’ซ Our beautiful patients โ€” your trust means everything, your stories empower us
๐Ÿ’ซ My supportive husband โ€” from endless encouragement to washing towels late at night!
๐Ÿ’ซ My family โ€” for their belief in me and endless support and food deliveries(very needed after long days)
๐Ÿ’ซ My cheerleading friends โ€” you know who you are ๐Ÿ’•

Hereโ€™s to many more years of Circle of Life Physio โ€” helping our community thrive, grow, and feel supported through every stage of life. ๐Ÿฅ‚
