September 1st marks the beginning of Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week 2025! WWDA is a proud supporter of this initiative, working with Jean Hailes for Women’s Health () and other advocates to:
→ Share trusted, easy-to-understand health information that helps women make informed choices about their health.
→ Push for real change by challenging the social, cultural and systemic barriers that hold women back from better health outcomes.
→ Build meaningful connections across sectors to drive progress for women’s health.

This year’s theme is “Say Yes to You”, encouraging women to prioritise their health needs and self care. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing accessible resources to help you put your wellbeing and healthcare first, including Easy Read fact sheets and videos.

🌟 September is 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵! 🌟 This month, we’re shining a spotlight on hydrocephalus, a condition that affects thousands of Australians, regardless of age. For those who might not be familiar, hydrocephalus is characterised by an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, which can lead to increased pressure and various health challenges.

Living with hydrocephalus can be incredibly tough—those affected may face cognitive, developmental, and physical challenges throughout their lives. That’s why it's so crucial to advocate for early diagnosis and prompt treatment options, so we can help improve outcomes and quality of life.

Join us this month in supporting those affected by hydrocephalus and pushing for enhanced resources, research funding, and awareness initiatives. Let’s work together to make a difference, foster understanding, and ensure that no one feels alone in this journey. 💙

You want to check in. They want someone to check in.

Don't overthink it. Ask 'are you OK?' any day.

Diversity is the fabric that weaves the world together. Maya Angelou beautifully reminds us that each thread—regardless of color—contributes equally to the rich tapestry of life. True strength lies in recognizing our shared humanity and celebrating the differences that make us stronger, not weaker. Together, we create a vibrant world full of endless possibilities. 🌍🧵
