My recovery journey was pivotal in why I went to university and studied to become a Accredited Practicing Dietitian and underwent additional training to become a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. Now, help people find a more sustainable, compassionate approach to eating. One that aligns with your values, not diet culture. One that supports nourishment, not perfection, and one that brings you toward feeling peaceful around food again. If any of this resonates, you're in the right place.

We all hear about social media being a highlight reel, and it is true, but hard for our brains to comprehend what that actually means.

We’re constantly being shown curated bodies, edited images, and “ideal” versions of everything from food, lifestyles and bodies. Over time, that can shape how we see ourselves.

If you're noticing you're feeling worse about yourself after going on social media, it's not your fault. It's a very common experience.

When we're exposed to the same types of bodies, diets, and “before and afters” over and over again, our brain starts to normalise that as the standard, which can impact how you feel about yourself and your body, how you eat and how much mental space it all takes up.

You don’t have to remove social media completely. But it can be beneficial to be conscious about how you use it, and how it makes you feel.

There has been a lot of talk about GLP-1s recently. It’s everywhere.

Most people know someone on them, they pop up on social media ads constantly, they’re coming up in conversation in clinic a lot, and I’m also finding I’m doing a lot of Professional Development in the intersection of eating disorders and GLP-1s at the moment.

The thing is - the whole thing is complex. But here are a few gentle reminders, which can be applied to anyone who is on a weight loss journey or using medication specifically for weight loss (note: GLP1s are often used for reasons outside of weight loss).

There is a lot of nuance and more to unpack here, but I will share more about this interesting and developing area in the coming weeks.

Feel free to share your thoughts

This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about this week in clinic.

There is no one size fits all for recovery and it can be so valuable hearing from people’s lived experience.

Being a health professional, I of course believe seeing a dietitian & psychologist is an important part of recovery. But is it everything and does it provide everything. No. I don’t think one thing does - it’s often lots of different little things that add up and make the difference.

Getting the motivation to recover Every. Single. Day is so hard.

So let’s hear your most creative ways and what’s worked for you!

Some gentle reminders this Easter 🐣

Easter can be a time of fun, family & festivities, but it can also be challenging too. Especially if you’re struggling with your relationship with food 🩷

Reminder: There is no “right” way to do Easter. Showing up in the capacity that feels right for you and being compassionate to yourself if things are hard 🩷

These are the things I wish more people knew and about recovery, nutrition and honestly just the human experience (the messy human experience) 🩷

So often, ED’s are misunderstood.

They’re not a choice.

And recovery isn’t just about the food, it’s about rebuilding safety, trust, and connection with your body and the world around you.

If you’re walking this path, please know:

🩷You’re not doing it wrong if it feels hard.
🩷You don’t need to “look sick” to deserve help.
🩷And you don’t have to do it alone.

It was great to learn so many new things from experts in the field. The day was filled with speakers covering everything from branding, AI and the importance of social media content.

Some of my key take home messages:

🩷Your brand isn’t your logo, it’s the feeling people leave with - .au

🩷AI is about to change small business the way the internet did in the 90s (Rebecca Warren)

🩷Loyalty is one of the most important things to care about as a business owner (and often overlooked) (Mark James).

It was also great connecting with such a mix of people - from Physios at , the incredible granola creator Janessa from and many others. I love heading to business events, especially where there are such a mix of businesses sharing their experiences and advice.

Still buzzing after an incredible conference on the weekend. It was so lovely to connect with so many colleagues, old and new!

Excited to place some of my learning into practice. Even more excited to do this again in Sydney next year!

I’ve started keeping a notes list in my phone of some of my favourite quotes, because who thinks of these all the time.

But I definitely love looking at them, and spending a bit of time reflecting inwards - it’s some thing that we often don’t get time to do when we live busy lives.

Feel free to share your own favourite quotes or something that’s resonated with you
