All Tubies, families and friends are invited to another Blended by Sarah picnic in the park – this time we’re running simultaneous events in Brisbane AND Perth!

💥 Nerf blaster battle – blasters + foam darts supplied (or BYO your favourite blaster)

🧙‍♀️ Halloween costume competition – prizes for best dressed & best decorated mobility aid (wheelchair, AFO… or broomstick!)

This Malnutrition Week, we’re honoured to share Oscar’s story through the words of his mum, Jenna. 💚
For Oscar, malnutrition wasn’t just a medical diagnosis – it was a daily battle woven into his life from the moment he was diagnosed with Cystinosis and Fanconi Syndrome.
What changed everything was the families decision to introduce Oscar to whole food tube feeding. With Blended by Sarah (Wholesome Blends), Oscar went from “failure to thrive” to more than doubling his weight in under 12 months. He is now a happy, thriving little boy with a quality of life his family once feared may never come.
Oscar’s journey is also featured in our cookbook Blended, Sharing Recipes for Love and Stories for Life. 💚 On page 45 you’ll find Oscar’s recipe for Beetroot Hummus and Toast, a little reminder that food can connect us, nourish us, and bring families together.
To anyone walking this path, your voice, your instincts, and your courage matter. To clinicians helping all our tube fed families, your understanding and support can make such a difference to us.
Together, by raising awareness, we can shine a light on the hidden faces of malnutrition and the power of whole food nutrition. 🌿✨

We are so humbled (and excited!) to once again be a Queensland State Finalist for the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards.

The category of Championing Health is especially close to our hearts. From day one our mission has been to give families who are tube-fed choice, choice in how to nourish their bodies with whole food in ways that feel right for them, not simply because outdated training tells them what they need.

Building Communities goes back to our core values everything we do has always been about giving our community power, a voice, and driving change. Our Tube fed community is the reason we’ve been able to push boundaries, advocate for change, and create a better life for families navigating tube feeding. You’ve supported, shared, and stood with us every step of the way.

These nominations are a reflection of the army of families, clinicians, and supporters who have believed in us, shouted from the rooftops, and kept us moving forward — even when the journey felt impossible. This is as much your recognition as it is ours.

A huge congratulations to the other amazing Queensland finalists – I’m proud to stand alongside you all.

Today, on Father’s Day, we honour the dads whose stories are shaped with additional love and appreciation.

Meet Pedro, , a father, a bodybuilder, an advocate, and a tube fed adult himself. His path, shared with his amazing children is also shared with our founders son Lewis, a 17 year old tube fed young man Pedro inspires, showing us the power of resilience, sacrifice and love in its truest form.

For many dads of medically complex children, Father’s Day can feel different. It can be isolating. It can highlight just how far from “normal” their path may be. And yet, it can also be overflowing with connection, pride, and a love so deep it reshapes what it means to be a father.

When a father himself is tube fed, that love carries though to their children too.

Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing tube fed fathers, and fathers who are themselves, tube fed.

We’re down to our very last boxes of our best selling Pork & Oats Blend, the first blend we ever made. It’s been a beautiful part of our story, and while we’re sad to say goodbye, we’re incredibly grateful to you, our community, for loving it as much as we do. ❤️

We’re proud to share some very special news

Our Founder and Director, Sarah Thomas, has been appointed as an Industry Fellow with the University of Queensland.

This appointment recognises Sarah’s advocacy and leadership in the field of enteral nutrition — particularly in championing blended tube feeding and helping families, patients and clinicians access whole food alternatives in care.

Sarah’s commitment has helped drive real clinical change across Australia. Her passion, backed by evidence and values, continues to challenge outdated thinking and support a future where patient choice is not a luxury, but a right.

This moment is also a reflection of our incredible community — the patients, families and healthcare professionals who have stood beside this mission and made it stronger. Thank you for fuelling this work with your voices and your belief.

Blended by Sarah is now in its fifth year partnering with the University of Queensland, supporting student placements and mentoring across Dietetics and Health Sciences. Sarah’s appointment deepens this relationship and furthers our shared commitment to preparing future clinicians to listen, adapt, and centre care around the real needs of patients.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the University of Queensland for this honour and for recognising the importance of collaboration, innovation and lived experience in healthcare.

Congratulations, Sarah — and thank you to our whole community for helping make this possible.
