Time-lapse technology in the IVF incubator captures continuous images of embryo development, creating a short video of how the embryo grows. Endometriosis is more than painful periods. It affects around 1 in 7 Australian women and is often misunderstood and underdiagnosed, with many waiting years for answers.

It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation, scarring and significant pain. Symptoms can include severe period pain, pelvic pain, pain with intimacy, bowel or bladder changes, fatigue and fertility challenges. Missing work, school or life because of period pain is not normal.

Awareness is growing, but education remains essential. Early diagnosis and personalised treatment including medical therapy and advanced laparoscopic or robotic surgery can make a significant difference.

Big news in the world of precision surgery 🌟

Dr Andy is the first in Queensland to use the robotic LigaSure™ Maryland jaw vessel sealer-divider on the Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery system by Medtronic.

This advanced technology allows for safe and rapid vessel sealing in approximately two seconds, effectively sealing vessels up to 7mm as well as thick tissue. The result is greater surgical efficiency and precision across gynaecological, urological and general procedures.

November is ‘Movember!’

What’s Movember?

Movember is a global movement dedicated to improving men’s health, with a strong focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and su***de prevention.

Each November, participants kick off the month clean-shaven and grow a moustache as a bold, visible way to spark important conversations and reduce the stigma around these issues.

People can get involved by growing a “Mo,” 🥸taking on physical challenges through Move for Movember, hosting or joining community events, donating, or simply starting conversations with the men in their lives.

Over the years, Movember has funded more than 1,320 men’s health projects worldwide, working to transform how health services support men and ultimately helping them live healthier, longer lives.

Thank you to everyone supporting Movember. It’s a wonderful cause, and every effort and donation helps make a real difference for men’s health.

How Does Robotic Surgery Work?

Dr Andy has unfortunately had a little mishap and is in surgery this morning to have it repaired. We’re all wishing him a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery.
